HIMYM season 4 - Page 3

Hannigan doesn't always convince at portraying anger or aggression, but she was on fire there.
I still like Barney stepping on the kid shooting him over and over
post #103 of 150
Just realized Barney made a Leeroy Jenkins shout-out before piercing his ear.

this episode was just plain goofy..

and was pretty damn funny.

Fantasy Guy was hilarious. Anyone else curious if the joke actually had a punchline?
So, I asked the Internet, and you know what's the difference between peanut butter and jam?

I can't jam my cock into your mouth

"Who's that?"

"I don't think he works here. We should leave the building."

truly funny episode.

Loved that PJ is now working for the Bank. I hope we get to see him again.

I just realized my boss is creepy massage guy.

I'm not sure if it's the Internet's error or yours, but...Fixed.

My favorite part of that was "This has happened before!"

You know, I was watching BIG BANG THEORY and I was really admiring how the show was coming into its own and I thought this week's episode was one of the best they've done yet.

And then I almost peed myself from laughing so hard at just the first five minutes of HIMYM.

EDIT: I know that 30 ROCK is the funniest show on television but sometimes HIMYM is a close second. So many great moments in this episode.
I actually really dig Big Bang theory, mostly because I used to essentially live with Sheldon (the neuroses parts more than the physicist parts).

HIMYM is a much better show than 30 Rock

I hope we see Stan again.
I bet there was spontaneous group sex in the writers' room after they came up with the Gospel According to Barney.
Last night was such a great episode, just firing on all cylinders.
This is the best sitcom right now, and one of the best ever.

It's cool to see the guy from A&E's the Cleaner.. It's STAN!

Her?

Did Ted or Marshall get a look at the list? Because Robin ought to be on it.

P.S. Headphones plugged into a grapefruit.
Not a bad episode. Barney's 200th and Marshall's charts made the day. And I'm still sure we haven't met the mother yet.

It's not Chalke. She's part of the events leading to Ted meeting her.

I thought of that, too, but isn't that out in the open now? The secret now isn't that Barney slept with her, but that he's in love with her.

I agree with Martin - I suspect that Chalke is a red herring.
Chalke's already been a red herring once. Seems gratuitous to do it again. But I hope that's the case.

My favorite bit was the call back to Marshall's open-mike night routine:

"I'm sorry, is there a land bass out there that we don't know about?"
I was rolling when Marshall started talking about the fish. Then, I had to explain it to my wife because she didn't get it. She can be slow at times.
Was I the only person who let out a big Wolverine esc. NOOOOOO at the reveal of Sarah Chalke?

I really hope that she's not the mother and is just going to lead Ted to her. And is it sad that I'm way more into this show in terms of the long haul storyline than pretty much every other show on TV? How I Met Your Mother and Lost are pretty much the only shows on TV that I make sure to watch when they air.

The Cecilia joke was brilliant.

I don't know what it says about me, but I laughed at pretty much every one of the chart jokes. "This is a pie chart of my favorite bars. This is a bar graph of my favorite pies."
“Sexxy, has two X’s and a Y, like most of the women in the magazine.”
Genetics joke? Awesome.

well from what i understand the yellow umbrella is the key to "mother"

He got the umbrella earlier in the year from a party at the bar.

We've already seen that if she were the mom, the kids would be blond. Still one of my favorite throwaway gags.

It says that you have fine taste. Marshall owned this episode.

As someone who used to teach simple data visualization to college students, I especially appreciated his proper use of pie chart and bar graph. And that, well, the graphics were all cleanly designed and easily comprehensible. B+!

Freeze-framing the dirty-sounding president names was worthwhile ... somebody bothered to take the joke all the way to 10 instead of just the three or so covered in the dialog. Harding, Filmore, etc.

Barney's scoring average is worse than Jim Abbot's batting average.

What was that song that was playing when Ted was running around hugging everybody?
I know that I have heard it somewhere but I can't remember where.

speaking of ringtones...

Loved Ted's ringtone.

as for the episode, it was kinda funny. Not great though. I pray that wasn't the finale.
I thought the serious stuff worked well.

And just when I thought the writers had given up explaining Hannigan's absences? Well played.
I'm guessing that the Mother ends up being someone he meets on the way to the dude's movie premiere or at it.
Was Ted's ringtone "Let's All Go to the Mall"? Awesome.

I loved the reason Lily hasn't been around.

It'd be great if the lead actress in The Wedding Bride was Barney's "wife" from The Stinsons

I have assumed, since last season at least, that the meeting will occur at, or around, a wedding between Barney and Robin. Robin is integral, since she and Ted started dating in the first episode, which is the "beginning" of the story of how Ted meet the kids mom.
We meet the mother this week in the season final.

Not gonna lie I broke into a slow clap at the end of the episode tonight.

I did as well. HIMYM consistently is smart and heart-warming, without being cheesy. NPH's performance was solid tonight as well.

At first I thought the goat storyline was stupid, but it played out well in regards to being a metaphor.

As for Barney and Robyn, my prediction is next season Barney will get Robyn knocked up (if they acknowledge Colby Smulder's pregnancy in any way).

HIMYM was probably the most enjoyable show to watch this year. Really good season finale.

Was I the only one who was afraid someone was going to fall off that ledge?
If they'd gone that way there would have had to be a pool directly beneath them or something.

Loved Marshall spreading his Dracula wings.

Did they explain why there was never anybody in the hot-tub apartment?

Or how they were able to get back? The only reason the jump was easy was because their roof was higher. I thought for sure the closing joke would be the realization that they were stuck.
I think I missed where they referenced why Lilly was missing, someone remind me? It wasn't because of Barney's peanut butter and jelly joke from a few episodes back was it?
Yes it was. Last week she came back saying she'd gotten over it. Barney described a strategy for sleeping with amnesiac women and she left again.
The only thing that would've made it better for me is if Ted turned around at the end and we saw his Beard again. Then the transformation of Douchey Teacher Ted would've been complete.

Also, great foresight in having Marshall's "I can jump that far" appear MUCH earlier in the Season as part of the "5 words you should never say" montage.
How about the Ghosbusters reference?

Ted and the goat ala Venkman and Slimer.

"It's looking at me."
