Atlanta--The City Too Busy To Have Fuel

So, with this gas "shortage" that no Georgia elected official seems to want to comment about...I saw about the silliest thing so far today--a guy riding a bicycle with one of those cars on the back that you'd put your kid in, except he has two freshly filled gas cans in it. I tried to take a picture of him for Nick's List of Dumb, but he turned off before I could snap it.

I want to see someone with an ET bike. With a gas can and a sheet over the top in place of ET.

I would lulz

That's not nearly as silly as people who have been waiting in line with their cars running for an hour or two to get gas.

Luckily my car runs on hope and love.

Which is helped by that photo of the new 90210 cast you have hanging from your mirror.

1. The City Too Busy to Hate is the stupidest slogan for anything ever. It makes it sound like we're all one Franklin Covey course away from being able to join the Klan.

2. This gas crap sucks.

If I can't get gas anywhere, I can't go to work. Might have to do something drastic like sleep in or enjoy self.

Kurt, you need to warn us that you're going to have the world's funniest avatar. I just lost my shit when I saw that.

The gas shortage coupled with the economic crisis has me convinced that by this time next week we'll have transitioned into Road Warrior territory. I'm trying to decide what sort of oddly disturbing look I should go for in this brave new world.

I saw Newt Gingrich on 'This Week' yesterday morning claiming that this fuel shortage would have been averted if we were drilling more. I was amazed that it took this long for a Republican to equate the distribution difficulty with the supposed seas of oil that those damn tree huggers won't let the oil companies get to.

I once knew a guy who somehow got his car to run on leftover grease from various fast food joints. Not only was it free, but the smell of French fries filled the air every time he drove by. True story, guy.

That works if your car has an engine that runs on diesel. The modifications are relatively simple, from what I understand.

I was actually able to stop at a QT for gas in Tucker with no problem and no wait today. They were smart in that they were only letting people in one entrance to avoid the crazy '70s oil embargo look.

I waited in line for gas for 30 minutes the other day. Would've been longer, but I got out and told everybody ahead of me how ridiculous I'll look if they don't hurry their shit up.

What's with all the gas shortages over there? Who's running the place? Ernest?
