DVD Spot is shutting down, I guess it's back to DVD AF or DVD Profiler

via DVD Spot

On Wednesday October 15th DVDSpot will be closed permanently. This decision was made to allow us to focus on other great web properties. We sincerely appreciate everyone's contribution to the DVDSpot community and hope you enjoyed the free services it provided. We understand many people will not want to lose their personal collection data, so we remind you that you can export that data to file by going to Membership Tools while logged in and clicking the Export to File button. This will create a file with all movies in your Owned and Watched lists. Also keep in mind the editor system for approving DVD additions and edits has been disabled, so no new or edited DVDs will be added.

This sucks. I am distraught now. Way to go, Anderson.

I feed on your sorrow.

I'd recommend Delicious Library to any of you mac users, but my entire library recently went corrupt, and their customer service isn't doing much to help me. So fuck them.

Was updating my collection this weekend, and saw this. Totally piled on an already crap weekend. I've not used DVD AF or DVD Profiler. Any opinions on which is liked more?

I imagine a lot of people washing their hands over and over again and flipping light switches on and off while weeping.

If you don't, the Oak Ridge Boys are going to die.

Look, just because I've taken medication for obsessive compulsive disorder since I was 14 doesn't mean that keeping meticulous track of my DVD collection all day is obsessive or compulsive behavior.

I quit DVDSpot a while ago because they never had record of my import horror and spaghetti western DVDs (though I found a public domain copy of Cain's Cutthroats today that isn't featured on DVDaf), and submitting stuff was a pain in the ass. I liked their layout much better than DVDaf's though.

I like DVD AF which I have been using for awhile now. My signature links to my collection on it.
