The Life and Times of Tim and Little Britian USA

The fuck is this shit?
In what way is Little Britain USA different from regular Little Britain?

I don't know. Did the original consist of tired cross-dressing shtick and a bad laugh track? If so then the American version is pretty darn close.

You don't get high falutin' British humor, Molt. Women normally don't have moustaches!

I really don't like the fatter one of the two guys. He has a face made to elbow.

Agreed Molt.
This shitstain of a show has an insanely huge following over here in England-land.
I can only offer a thousand apologies on behalf of my countrymen and ask that you watch Hot Fuzz again to remind you that British people can be funny.

Yea, I've caught the promos for this and have to say it looks pretty stupid. Especially the skit with the guy, dressed as an old lady walking her dog, with the dog telling her to take her clothes off in the middle of the street. It wasn't funny, in fact it was painful to watch.

I'm not saying guys dressed as ladies can't ever be funny, who didn't guffaw at the sight of Uncle Miltie in a gown? But it's like every sketch with this show. The well hath run dry.

I've only seen promos for The Life and Times of Tim, and I laughed a few times. The show really that bad?

Life and Times of Tim I would at least say could possibly be an acquired taste. I certainly didn't acquire it after the first one. Has some funny basic ideas but blows it in the execution.

I would at least consider trying it a second time, so it has that over Britain.

The Fat Fighters sketch was funny, but it seems like they've mined everything they can from these characters in the first episode. I don't want to see umpteen iterations on the same premise; I've got SNL for that.

The Life and Times of Tim seemed kind of the same -- we get it, Tim will get into bizarre situations that spiral out of control and deadpan his way through them. Amusing once, but a series? I don't know.

Holy Moses, I misspelled Britain in the thread title. I even looked it up too. Here I am all proud that I always spell villain right and I mess up Britain. What a fial.

I really liked The Life and Times of Tim, but it's one of those shows where I would in no way begrudge someone hating it, or calling me a dick for liking it. I can see why it wouldn't be someone else's thing, for sure. Just rubs me the right way.

And as a brit, I would also like to whole heartedly apologise for Little Britain. Rest assured some of us fucking hate it.

I saw one segment of Life and Times of Tim (girlfriend finds friendly hooker with Tim in their apartment) as part of a Spike n Mike's Twisted animation fesitval, and it killed. Had me in tears by the end of it. A great short. But turning it into a series? I don't think there's enough there. I have a struggle with faux-hipster deadpan overload anyway (hence my ambivalence to Flight of the Conchords, minus a few funny songs; so, judge me as you will).

I got through one and a half sketches of Little Britain USA. Another unfortunate case of talented comedic actors (I can give As and Bs for effort) with absolute shit, shit, SHIT for writing. Fucking painful, amateur-level untalented hacky shit writing glossed with a wasted pro budget. May this end soon.

It's spelled PHIAL, Molti! Jeez.

Little Britain did absolutely blow (Rosie O'Donnel's sportsmanship being the only bright spot), but I liked Tim quite a bit. Maybe I'm just a sucker for bum rape and hooker-based humor. Actually, no maybe about it.

I liked Little Britain USA but I can agree that reusing the same characters over and over can get tiring. I think that's why stopped being interested in the British version when it was playing on BBC America.

I really liked Tim. The raped by a bum sequence had me nearly in tears by the end of it. The guy's just a likable idiot. A really stupid fucking idiot but the scenarios are funny.

British men dressed as women can be funny. Just like Eddie Izzard.

And a troupe pf men dressed as women can also be funny, just like The Kids in the Hall.

But Little Britain sucks George Michael's cock in the Trainspotting bathroom.

Okay wait, British Chewers: is Little Britain really universally derided? I thought it was funny when it came on Belgian TV.

I can't deny that Matt Lucas and David Walliams are talented comedic actors, but it just felt like every bit was about bodily fluids being ejected. Funny the first couple of times, but if that trend continues (and from what I've read of the British version, it's a trend that started in the second season and was largely to blame for a perceived drop in quality), it's going to get old. The funniest bit was the Fat Fighters, but will every sketch simply be the leader making fun of fat people? And suggesting that men who obsess about their physique are closeted homosexuals doesn't seem like the most daring or even new angle. I guess it's good that the bits are so short, so none of them really overstay their welcome, but if the second episode is more of the same, it'll be over and out for this show.

And hello, Python was dressing in drag long before Kids in the Hall, you bunch of youngins.

True, but The Kids made it one of their staples.

Uh, hello again Shelly Long. I mentioned Uncle Miltie. He was the true O.D.

To my friends across the pond. In no way do I blame your country or any of its citizens for Little Britain. Your country inspired John Lithgow's accent in CLIFFHANGER. For that alone I am forever in your debt.

You've just completely discounted everything you ever have and ever will say or write.

I caught Life and Times of Tim. Didn't think the hooker story was funny, but I thought the bachelor party was. How the bum rape story kept spreading made me laugh.

Has anyone ever watched The Peter Serafinowicz show on G4? It's got some funny skits and bits. The parody of "E!"/"Entertainment Tonight"/their British equivalent is pretty funny. And seeing Marlon Brando as Jabba the Hutt was kind of funny.

I like Tim as well. The bum rape bit had me in pain.

Just a little bum rape humor.

That's not a genre of humor.
