Do not mention undrafted eligible titles.
Usually, we're picking WHICH round will end up being the 'bloodbath' round...now, ALL of them are. Literally.
I'm not going to make my Day One time due to office work, at least if it falls in the time frame. You can move me to the end of the day without complaint. That will actually work well for me on Wednesday as well.
Wow. I'm up at 2.

RECIEN!

Nobody better draft my pick. Heads will roll! I'm so serious about this you wouldn't believe it.

Oh my GOD! Am I serious.

I moved you to the end of the day.

Thanks. Now, I just need to find the equivalents of THE SEVEN SAMURAI and THE GENERAL that people are overlooking. I've got a couple of obscure ones in mind though.
I have a pretty good slot, and my first pick is the most important of them all for my theme. I might have a shot of getting it!

Guess I'll have to move you to the end of the day then.

I'm drunk on power. And a little bit of Jack.
You wouldn't be my favorite Keith if you do!
My slot is all kinds of doable. [brown-noser] Great job Keith! High five! [/brown-noser]
I hope you early people move fast. Ideally, I wanna pick by noon. I don't think this is something I can screw up.

Don't sell yourself short, man. We have faith you can.
Day One, slot one. Keith, I love you man. Think I'm gonna piss a few people off if I get the film I want round one. Scratch that, I know I am.
Is the non-discussion of eligible titles limited to this thread or do I need to stop posting in "wtf are you watching" if it's a horror film?
It's probably best to play your cards close to your chest, Jake.

I can't wait to see what movie will be to this draft, what The Departed was to the Action draft...

I think that film is fairly obvious, and make no mistake, someone WILL draft it.
I'm still not sure why I signed up for this draft. I love horror and have a pretty decent working knowledge of the genre, but unlike most true horror buffs I skip a lot of the DTV stuff that's been crap. And I'm a fan of older horror films, so I expect most of my picks to reflect that.
And that will be looked upon very well.
I'm having the same issues as Cordo. He and I might be drawing from the same well, round after round.
Well, it seems like a battle to the death is in order.
Fuck the DTV stuff. As someone else said already, we've got almost a hundred years of titles. If someone drafts "Daughters of the Pineapple 4"...no excuses.
I mean, you could probably name a good 50+ titles from each decade untill the 90's. Solid legends or legit cult classics. (Use google if you need hints; I'm sure you'll find someones lists) I'm really looking forward to seeing where people go & what gets drafted (or left out).
I think I'm still under the naive impression that we're supposed to draft films we've seen, not ones that make "Best Of" lists.

Most definitely. No need to sweat it. Just meant if you needed a memory jog at the get-go. (For me, there's been at least two '"Oh, shit! Why didn't I think of that?!!" moments each draft)

Ah alright. I see what you're saying now.
Thanks for the early slot, Keith!
Same here. Although I hate that Anderson is going ahead of me. We have a propensity to have the same taste and I wouldn't be surprised at all if he drafts my projected first pick.
I'm riding caboose tomorrow which may affect my weak attempt at a theme. Hope not.
Very nervous.

Fuck you in advance whoever gets my first pick.
Anyone who picks my first round pick before me gets knifed. Just sayin'.
Hell, I'd like to say that I'll kill and rape the body of whoever pick my 1st pick, but there's 4 people ahead of me, and there's a huge chance that it's gonna go.

But I just might steal your liver...
This may be my first attempt at a theme. If I can get away with my first pick, I'm willing to bet I can get away with the rest.
:::takes Elvira costume out of closet:::

The slashing begins tomorrow.

I expect that will be the same well that I draw from. No shame in that though, and I'll be surprised if most of the picks aren't from 1970 to present.
This is going to an appropriately violent Draft Discussion I can tell already.
Ten bucks says I'll miss that Draft Time Tomorrow, so feel free to jump me anytime before 11 am.

You could PM me your pick(s)...

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!111!!1!1...

I mean, yeah...
I'm not going to even attempt a theme. This is my first draft, i'm just working on surviving.

I think I've got a few picks that I'll be very happy with that most won't think of right away. Some of my favorites I'm not even going to try for because I know they'll be on the chopping block (see what I did there?) long before I get up to the plate.
I've got a very loose theme, but it sort of relies on several, fairly high-profile films not getting snatched up. Since this is a pretty big draft in terms of draftees, reckon my theme will be scuppered by round 3.
I have a theme but I have no idea how this group will pick. I think by the time I make my first pick it will be clear that I'll either have to stick to my theme or won't be able to go with the theme.

I'm pretty sure that my dream horror draft will be gone before my first pick comes up.
So wait, do we go before Anderson is done, or do we wait for him?
and here....we....go
please not everyone all at one.

Sackley excellent pick though it was pretty much chiseled in granite that it would be picked in the first group.
Fuck you Sackley. That was mine, you godless piece of shit!
You were being optimistic Savage if you thought that would last 4 people
post #45 of 2477
Heheheheheh.... So it begins.
No kidding. Now it gets interesting.
I realize it's only been 10 minutes but this has to be the slowest start to a draft I've seen

It all depends on the people. I just noticed that many of the 1st group are late drafters, Anderson excluded. This is gonna be a long morning.

EDIT: I just forgot to tell Sackley to go fuck himself again. Please note that this small wave of anger would have been directed at anyone drafting The Thing.
See, its past 2pm here, so its not difficult for me to be on time, but 9am? Fuck that.
This is why I'm so frustrated that I tend to end up a late picker. I'll always here right at 9 and just watch my movies get snatched away. or drafters not show up meanwhile I'm here
