What Are You Drinkin'? - Page 2

Always keep some bread on ya for straining. Don't want to go blind now.
Nah, I'm 33 and I've been drinking this stuff for twenty years. It's perfectly safe.
Wait a second? How do we know you aren't blind right now? And having someone type for you?
You don't.

Damn, I knew you Greeks were crafty. Hell it was shone to me while watching the Wire season 2

I actually have no idea, usually when ever a relative of mine stops he brings me a water bottle full of it (I call it dirty water). The stuff I got now, I think is Slivovitz, which is plum brandy (here's the wiki page on it Slivovitz), then again it could whiskey. It's good shit though, very smooth.

Nah, I'm not gonna go blind, the worst that can happen when I drink that stuff is that I may throw my pants at someone in protest.

Well, he lives in Virginia, right? So I'm gonna guess and say a still in the mountains.

I like Asahi, and Sapporo is really good, I drink it often. They've never tasted especially "dry" to me, but maybe I just don't understand that term. To me their pretty smooth beers.
I was wondering about Asahi. Been meaning to try that. I was just curious as how a "dry" beer would taste like.

That sounds delicious. We make ours from grapes, basically whats left over after making wine. Smooth it ain't, though.

Nope, Cleveland. He makes it in his basement.

Nice. I just hear Williamsburg and I just think Virginia.

Actually I think the stuff I have might be made from grapes, I got to remember to ask about it next time I see him. But šljivovica is sold in liquor stores, its just not as strong as the home made stuff.

I had some a few weeks ago at my cousins birthday that had some honey in it. That was the best, there was a nice sweetness to it.

Williamsburgland is a reference to the band Crotchduster.

Had a couple beers last night, along with some carbombs. I don't think there's a better quick-buzz drink that that. Two of those, and it's a pretty good start to a night...

The difference between Cuban rum & Puerto Rican rum is unbelievable. I was in Mexico earlier this year, and picked up a couple bottles of rum at the local store. After drinking them, I noticed how much better & smoother the flavor was compared to what I was used to, and only then did I notice where it was made. Managed to sneak home a couple bottles in my luggage, Cuban embargo be damned!

Irish/Mexican here!

A couple of years ago, I was out for my birthday and one of my friend's girlfriends made a shot for me based on my background. We called it the Irish Sombrero, which consisted a shot of tequila dropped into a pint of Guinness. Hands down, that's the worst thing I've ever drank, but she did it with me, leading me to agree with Diva that a whole lot of girls could probably drink you guys under the table. I mean, drinking Cosmos?! Come on!

Asahi Beer is great
Also drink Lefe (Belgian) beer and Guiness. Also there is some awesome beer from Kenya if you can find it.
Also like Red wine a lot...Cabernet Sauvingon (sp?)
and I likes me some Saki...Kurosawa Saki is great (and not just because of the name association)
I just drank some Pisco-Cola the classic drink down here in Chile. I was bored with my others housemates (jaja I could merge and post in both threads).

I prefer beer (here is quite good, German beer wins) or any vodka related drink.
So, I drank me some Croatian moonshine (the type which I believe is called lozovača) and the most that happened from that was I played a mandolin for a bit so......

Time for some of New Jersey's finest, River Horse Tripel, straight from the brewery.

Polish Beer and Bush Mills makes a surprisingly pleasant combination, although I now have a desire to watch the Fifth Element so I may have damaged my brain somewhat.

My friends laugh at me because whiskey makes me a happy drunk, as opposed to mean. As such, I tend to do a lot of Jameson shots when I'm out. I recently became a regular at a bar called Whiskey Town. Yup. Good times.

Jameson is by far my favorite hard alcohol, but whiskey is the only hard liquor I can really drink a lot of and actually enjoy. I can't stand vodka or gin, rum/tequila are ok when mixed with something, but I love me some good whiskey.
Whisky is a bizarre one with me. Irish and American I'm fine with, if I drink scotch it sort of flips the 'evil switch' in my brain and I become the nastiest misanthrope ever.

Which sucks because I fucking love Single Malts.
A friend of mine got married this weekend, which means that at this point my body is approximately 40% Jameson.

Beerwise, I've been enjoying Shock Tops recently.

My go to drink is gin and tonic, but only mid-shelf or higher. Well gin taste gross and gives you the worst hangovers. I love Tanquery and Bombay Sapphire, but I'll also drink Seagrams (7 & 7, baby!).

I can drink vodka, but don't like it. It's too bland to be drunk on its own and the mixers it usually gets paired with are too sugary or sour. Tried Red Bull and Vodka when it was popular, but I could get a better buzz doing actual coke. This just made me cracked out and edgy.

Tequila reminds me of being in high school or Mexico. Both were fine at the time, but I've moved on. A good margarita on a summer day is nice, though. Recently tried Patron XO - coffee flavored tequila. Surprisingly good, but not something to drink all night long.

Drank rum in college. Kinda over it. Also, like vodka, it gets paired with sugary or sour mixers. Jaeger - gah! Also a college shot, but I did them sparingly.

I generally drink whiskey/bourbon straight up or with ginger ale (Jack and Ginger was my go to drink for a time). I don't drink Scotch often, but when I do, it's on the rocks - Johnny Black.

But honestly, my motto is I'll drink anything if its free. And I know a lot of bartenders. There's nothing like walking into a bar and having a drink waiting for you. Come back from the restroom, drink waiting for you. Gotta leave? Can't you have a full drink in front of you.

Hmm, I'm thirsty. Think I'll make myself a stiff one.

Joose, bitches!

It's basically the Steel Reserve/Colt 45 of super-sweet alcoholic energy drinks. 4 flavors, and 2 of them are 9.9%.
Super-sweet alcoholic energy drinks? Do you have a vagina?
I've been hooked on Hefweizen lately (Schneider Weisse, Kapuziner). Great beers for the summer, although I can't stop thinking of my friend who commented that the kind of beer looks like pregnant woman's piss.

A friend of mine brought a bottle of Wild Turkey American Honey for me the other day, and that was a strange (if tasty) drink. Never thought I'd drink a Wild Turkey that didn't burn going down.
Really? I gotta try that Wild Turkey sometime.

I had some Croatian moonshine a few weeks back that had a bit of honey in it, it was fucking delicious.

Yes! And I can't stop playing with it!

And by George why would you.

I've noticed that there are quite a few Jameson drinkers here...knew there was a reason I hung out here. Jameson on the Rocks right now. Yeah on a Monday night. So?
Although when I'm at the pub its usually a Miller light and a shot of Jame-o. Then towards the end of the night, A Guiness. Ya know, so I can sleep good
post #81 of 274
My ex-roommate makes this punch called "get naked juice" that is comprised of vodka, citrus juice and Old E. It is surprisingly tasty, but man, the malt liquor just kicks the buzz into overdrive, and indeed, I've seen more than my share of people hooking up that don't necessarily get like that with other drinks.
I found that even mixing liquors of a similar colors I can become a mean drunk. Not cool. This is opposed to fun loud drunk with just beer. Or sticking with one liquor.

And speaking of beer, I found Blue Moon has a Pumpkin Ale. Nuts.
Oddly, if I get just the right amount of booze in me (liquor or beer) I some how become charming. And then I drink some more and start calling people cunts.
Yeah it's weird. In my experience, there have been two times where I've been mean. Most of the time just straight up fuckin around loudness. And the best white guy dancing to hip hop ever.

God bless Harvest Moon.

Jameson on the rock is definitely my go to drink at a bar or restaurant. If I'm going for beer it's usually Yuengling.

Can't find Fat Tire here in Jersey, which sucks because I remember liking it a lot. Had it a few years ago when I went out to Colorado.

We can get Red Hook though.
The only time I have ever mixed liquors, I ended up engaging in... activities with someone that I really really shouldn't have. So, yeah - I pick my drink and I stick to it.

At a bar, I'll order a hard cider (Woodchuck or Strongbow), an amaretto sour, or a whiskey sour (Jameson only, please). On my one trip to Ireland, I drank Jameson and coke, which I would never do in the U.S. (I don't want to insult the Jameson with all of that corn syrup). At a restaurant, a glass of wine.
My liquor of choice is scotch whisky. Glenmorangie to be exact. I'm still a novice in the area, but still.

Beer-wise, nothing will top either Guinness or the brown Leffe, or a white Hoegaarden in the summer heat.

Corn syrup Coke must make cocktails taste kind of weird. I'd love to try a Cuba Libre with US Coke and see how I like it. But you should try as much as possible to drink whiskey straight with only a little water (not tap) to release its scent better. For single malts this is obligatory although you can add a little more water since they're usually much more potent.
Oh, don't be one of those people, stelios.
I'm most definitely not one of those people. It's just that some things are much better experienced the way they are supposed to.
I'll agree with single malt scotches, a drop of water can change the texture and taste so much it's unreal. But I've always used American whiskey as little more than a mixer.
The water trick is nice with Irish whiskey too..Jameson and Bushmills.
At the moment I'm drinking Skinny Dip by New Belgium. (going on their Brewery tour this Saturday!)
It's going to be a long weekend of drinking. (B day)

See, I like Wheat Beer. Which kind of Fat Tire did you have, though? While I agree that Sierra Nevada has gone down hill over the years, I'll still drink their wheat beer from time to time. It's doesn't have as high an alcohol content, but it's still pretty good as long as you can get past the piss color.
I prefer the Henfenwizens myself. Goes great in a glass with a slice of fruit. It's good stuff.

And Shiner Bock was great too. But I never cared for Guinness or that ultra-heavy shit.
