The Third Man.

Joseph Cotten runs around Vienna, fucks things up for everyone, makes a fool of himself and learns that he should have listened to the knowledgeable Brits in the first place.

And I'm not sure if I should be ashamed or not to have not seen any of the films in the original post.

Not to mention... they're IRISH! Fighting (and drinking) is what they live for. He was encouraging and appreciating the local culture. Dragging Maureen O'Hara across the countryside was also in good form. Sean Thornton should be commended for his diplomacy.

Also NOT an asshole: The Italian Stallion at the climax of ROCKY 4.

Major asshole however... Cathy in MYSTICS IN BALI is studying Balinese mysticism, allows herself to become an apprentice to the local witch, transforms into a snake and a pig, and then learns the ability to detach her head (with internal organs trailing behind). Her detached head (w/ organs) flies around, terrorizes the locals and feeds on unborn babies. Asshole.

I think there's a line that says it's like a village of drug dealers or something. So it's all good.

Matthew McConaugheyis an asshole in Reign of Fire but he was pretty badass so I'm not sure if that counts.

Too bad he didn't get it with a spiky umbrella. Seriously, these movies are so borderline offensive that even Jackie Chan gets to be an asshole in his own fucking country. Count me in for a Midnight Express remake for Rush Hour 4.

And since it basically qualifies as South-African soil, Riggs & Rog in the embassy in Lethal Weapon 2. "But... but... but... he's black!".
