Christian Slater Show

It's like Mr. & Mrs. Smith minus Mrs. plus in and out amnesia!

Can't. Wait.

Looks fun. Slater's been wasted in DTV hell for too many years.

Although he was good on stage in 'One flew over the Cuckoo's nest' and 'Swimming with Sharks' and contributed to a great CHUD podcast.

Thread title made me wish for "The Christian Slater Show," which I envision as either a terrible variety hour or a terrible sitcom.

MOWE will have to do for a terrible Christian Slater show. But I'll keep on dreaming!

Already noticed the character names--"Henry" is the family guy and "Edward" is the 'bad' guy. Henry Jekyll & Edward Hyde. Man, I need to get out more.

So subtle...

I can't wait for Christian Slater Show!
I prefer Jekyll and after this show I will continue to prefer Jekyll

Christian Slater Show is up for free on iTunes. I watched it last night and unfortunately the episode only garnered an "Eh". I'll give it another shot.
How are the Nicholson brows doing?
Henry is fairly Nichbrow free, but Edward is bringing it to a whole new level.
I'm tempted to watch it, but a One-Two Punch of Heroes and The Christian Slater Show would probably cause permanent brain damage.
The best part is that because of this thread I can't remember the actual name of the show and will only refer to it as The Christian Slater Show from here on out.

I ain't watching this.
Kevin Matchstick, Why not title the thread...My Own Worst Enemy?

Duke Fleed, that would have been a very bad thing to do.

Good thing you are not alone, in the dark about this show.
The Cristian Slater Show is real? And here I thought it was just a Chevy commercial.
What did you guys think?
Thought it was good enough to watch it a couple more weeks to see if it hooks me. Not making a final judgement yet. Slater did a good job in the lead and I was surprised I bought into the Yes Dear guy's character.

Not really clear as to what was the overall benefit to signing up for that sort of covert program, other than being the zany basis for a TV show. What advantage did this have over being a plain old typical secret agent man?
The ad on IMDB with the slider was a neat idea.

I was thinking the same thing. If they want him to be that covert just keep him underground at all times until he has to go on a mission.

Kept half an eye on it while I was working, it was entertaining enough to bear watching for awhile. I've never forgiven Christian Slater for playing "Guy Who Wandered Onto the Set" in Broken Arrow, but he did well enough here.

But you young pups have no idea how depressing it is to see Slater playing a father.
He was on Howard Stern yesterday and he's still as weird as ever.
I actually liked it quite a bit, and think it holds some promise. I do dread the inevitable Me, Myself & Irene or Nicky/Jessica arguments with himself in the mirror, or hitting himself in the head to beat the other him up. If they can avoid that angle I will be impressed!
I watched the first half hour and while it was stupid as shit...I'll probably finish it off tonight. I mean, seriously, the premise is fucking retarded the second you start to think about it, but I was entertained with Christian Slater's Slaterness. It's still better than Heroes and Knight Rider and less stupid than both, so it's got that going for it.
I actually enjoyed it more than I thought it would (and the direction was, for me, noticeably above par, especially when "Tom" rescued Slater), but it's near impossible to ignore the glaring stupidity of the whole premise.

You gotta respect a show that starts off with a lady getting a bullet to the brain though. Classy.
It was surprisingly bloody for a network show, I thought. Otherwise, I didn't think it was great. It seemed like they used up the whole premise in the first hour. Everyone is way too serious and there's no way I buy Aggrocrag as a cold-blooded government assassin.
I hope we get at least a whole season out of Slater vs Slater. I could care less about any form of plot that made this happen.
He mentions they can't communicate with eachother, so I doubt we'll see any direct Slater V Slater action.

I was surprised that I really really enjoyed it though. The spy scenes were good and Slater was great. But Jesus Madchen Amick hasn't aged AT ALL.
Surprisingly not terrible.
I had watched the pilot online a few days before it aired. I didn't hate it, but I didn't really enjoy it either. I had meant to try watching it again when it was broadcast to see if it was any better when it wasn't on a tiny window on my computer screen. Nope, it was still far more bland than it should have been. Aside from the line about Henry suffocating in the truck if anything happened to Raymond, the only entertainment I got from the show was pretending that AJ Sun/Janus was a subsidiary of the Klein & Utterson Company from Jekyll. Eventually, I gave up and watched Anthony Bourdain instead.

ahahahahahahah

Once again, I find myself shocked that this show isn't as atrocious as I thought it would be. It's also pretty funny that Henry gets sent on all the dangerous missions and has to spend his time agonizing over discovering his split personality while Edward gets to bop Henry's wife.
Aside from still avoiding any sort of explanation as to why Edward/Henry's creators would go to all the trouble, it is surprisingly decent. Thought the 2nd episode was actually better if anything.
Liked the ending for the second one.
Just saw the third episode. This show is starting to get really interesting. It has my interest for a few more weeks. The therapist twist was predictable but fun.
I actually found myself feeling sorry for Tom. Poor bastard has to go through the fallout of an affair he didn't have, and probably can't figure out why he suddenly had an affair when he'd been so sure he was true to his wife a week ago.
I'm surprised by how much I'm enjoying this show. It still takes itself pretty seriously but it's been entertaining. The interplay between Slater and Slater is good and they are handling the crisis well enough. Slater is totally screwed once the therapist is found out or killed. I love how Aggrocrag never misses an opportunity to tell Slater he'll take him out without a second thought.
It's toast, apparently.
Yeah, pin's been pulled. Kind of expected it, really: it's a good enough show but there's no real must-see element to it. The scripts are essentially rehashes of ALIAS episodes, the supporting characters are interesting but hardly compelling. Slater did well, though - hopefully his work here will get him off the DTV circuit for a while. He's probably gonna have a Rob Lowe/Charlie Sheen career now - float from show to show until he finds one that works for him.
I've watched all the eps and overall had some fun with it thanks to Slater. But I'm not really gonna miss it all that much. At times it was just too hard to watch without thinking how absurdly contrived everything was, and I say that as someone who can't wait for 24: Redemption to air. So you know I can let a lot of contrivances go before they begin to bug me.
It's a shame it's not going to survive, but it's not a painful loss.
Yeah, I've watched every episode but I won't lose any sleep over it being cancelled. Then again, I feel that way about each of the new shows I've been watching so far this year.
Well, on the plus side they aren't turning any corners that will make me regret this disappearing. Holy milquetoast batman.
Now someone give Slater a latenight talkshow gig, and call it the Christian Slater Show. Or alternatively, That Late Night Show With Christian Slater.
I actually thought the kid that was playing his son was in fact his son. Turns out it was the guy from the Shark Kid/Lava Girl thing Rodriguez did a few years back.
