Leeds International Film Festival '08

The mainstream programme is a little disappointing (no Brothers Bloom) and one film is conspicuous by its absence (Let the Right One In) but the International Film Festival looks like it could be a lot of fun.

Every now and then the Film Festival has a programme that is strongly weighted towards its Fanomeon side and this year looks to be great for asian cinema fans. Tokyo Gore Police, Fantastic Parasuicides, The Good, The Bad and the Weird and 20th Century Boys are all films I can't wait to see. Plus the annual Horror all nighter looks to have some honest to goodness decent films this year.

Oddly enough, I nearly ended up getting time to go see this, but i've got 2 gigs booked that'd make getting up to leeds and back ridiculously difficult.

Shame really, we could have met up and discussed taking over the world.

If you can try and attend the Night of the Dead, it starts at Midnight on Sunday 14th and goes through until about 8am. The films this year look legitimately entertaining and the banter is always fucking awesome.
