I'd have this tomorrow, but those Amazon bastards tricked me. They had it for $89.99 up to Monday, so I canceled my order Sunday night as Best Buy had it for 74.99. Then I saw Monday night that they lowered it to 74.99, so I placed the order again. Why Amazon why!?

If you pre-order from them and they drop the price by the time it's released, they're supposed to give you the cheaper price.

The original Matrix DVD transfer was great. I can't imagine it looking any better. But from what I've heard the HD transfer is awesome.

I'm sure Blu-Ray captures will look great on your CRT.

Also, the MATRIX transfer is from the DVD box set, not the theatrical release. The difference is the hue of green in the box set now matches the green hue in the sequels. I'm kind of a purist with this stuff, but this is one change that I don't mind.

My mistake. I'll whip up a few 20 MB TIFF files as soon as I can.

Screencaps from DVD Beaver:

Edit: linking caps to avoid table-breaking, which I'm sure someone would get pissy about.

Laurence Fishburne's face.

That's my one caveat about Bluray. We can now see the human face with way too much clarity.

Yes, but I didn't know they were going to drop the price on Monday, and they usually ship to me on Monday I didn't want it shipping at that price. No matter now, it arrived yesterday at that price.
