I got the trades out from the library. I really don't get the company that publishes it. Their flagship comics are Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys, Illustrated Classics...and Tales from the Crypt? That kind of tells who and what they're selling: bland entertainment to kids. I read the first three trades of the new series, and only one issue actually made me sit up and take notice. 'The Garden' actually has some bite to it and a good twist, but the rest is weak sauce.

I wouldn't say it's terrible. Issue eight comes out this Wednesday and I've been reading since the first, and it's what it is. If you go back and read any of the older series they're not good at all, but they're fun. That's what this is. It's nice to read a comic every once in a while that's not steeped in continuity or trying to be the next Dark Knight Returns.

The art in these can't begin to compare to what the EC crew was doing in the 50's.

I'll agree with you on the art aspect. I think this books should be more of a showcase, but it seems more like they're content having sub-par art.

Agreed. The art is not so bad as mediocre,and that makes it a totally unworthy sucessor to the EC Throne.
