World of Goo - Page 2

I've got a good idea to build a super tall tower. The problem lies in having too many goo balls tending to congregate where you are building, usually at the top of the tower.

My solution is to build several smaller towers using up all the goo balls. That way the goo balls are where you want them, off the tower, till they are ready to be used.

Then all you have to do is pluck the goo balls from your temporary towers and place them on your main one.

I think the highest tower ever is around 50ish meters.

Building a pyramid only gets you to roughly 20 meters with 300 balls, so you have to probably do a combo of a pyramid base and a rectangular top to get up really high.

I never "slingshotted" her, I just built her up enough with walls on either side so she wouldn't fall. How's the slingshot thing work?

I tried building it up, but that wasn't really working, so by accident I launched her up the pipe by placing a goo about halfway across her which popped her up enough to catch the current into the fan or whatever. It's kind of hard to describe (and I've been drinking, so I doubt that sentence made sense), so here's a video.

The first level of the prologue is a real bitch. I keep running out of goos when I flip the bridge to the third island.

This game is awesome but, holy crap, the awesome engineering skills I had that led me to winning the toothpick bridge challenge in grade school have completely evaporated.

Finished it today. Amazing really. I want more!

I heard that the European version has a sixth level that takes place on the moon. I would love to play that one.

Wow, this is really depressing.

90% of World of Goo installs are pirated.

I finally went back and beat it, ended up skipping 4 stages, but oh well, I'll get back to them.

Great fucking game. Me want moon level.

I've been trying to do the OCD achievements. Only got 6 so far.
So fucking hard.

Yeah I only have 3 myself. I'm sure there are some amazing YouTube videos of people having their way with the OCD mode, but I'm steering clear.

Yea, the OCD's are tough. I'm only missing one in the first World, and I have a few random ones in others, but damn. It gets frustrating when you're only one move over. Then you go back and try again. And again.

Just finished World 4 a while ago, and gave Epilogue 1 a try, but didn't beat it. Dang, that one's gonna be tricky.

Amazing game, though. I gifted it to an engineer buddy today, and am eager to hear what he thinks of it.

This was a thing of beauty. I was sorry that one was over so quickly. I've gotta go back and play it again.

$4.99 on Steam this weekend. There's no excuse to not have played this now.
