Incredible Hulk 3-disk - digital copy?

The 3-disk version of the Incredible Hulk comes with a "digital copy" of the film.

What is meant by that exactly? How is that different from the copy of the film on disk one?

ty in advance for any info

It can be downloaded to your PC or IPod. In other words, complete waste of time and space.

Not a waste if you travel alot. I've used the digital copy thing a few times. I'd rather just have the blu-ray come with a standard dvd as well, like Sleeping Beauty, though.

I picked up the Blu-Ray this morning and I have to say, seeing the green BR box, I hope the 360 switches cases.

I could deal with that. But the only portable device worth watching a full blown movie on it a laptop, most of which come with a DVD drive to begin with. If you're on the go that much, it's better to just deal with a standard DVD for the moment.

I know I'm in a minority on this one, but no movie deserves to be shrunken down to less than a 12 inches across, convenient or no.

Not really. Playing a DVD uses far more battery power than a digital file.

And I'd rather not be lugging my DVDs with me when I travel, just in case something happens to them.

I love digital copy. In fact, it allows me to rationalize Blu-ray purchases. Buying Forgetting Sarah Marshall on Blu Ray was a toss-up, since I couldn't take it anywhere with me. But, with the digital copy, I can take it to friends' houses, on airplanes, the metro, etc. Very useful. If someone doesn't want their Hulk digital copy, I'll take it.

My work laptop doesn't have an internal dvd drive, so the digital copy comes in handy for trips.

While I currently have zero use for a digital copy (don't have a laptop and find the idea of watching a movie on my MP3 player or phone laughable), I can see why some people use them. I just find it annoying how they use the digital copy to artificially inflate the DVD's content (e.g. most 2-disc special editions are now one disc with the movie and all the bonus features, one disc with the digital copy). Rather than waste the cost and materials to make the extra disc, is there a better way to implement this? You have to unlock the digital copy with a key code anyway; why not just make it a downloadable, copy-protected file?

Even though I don't utilize it, Digital Copy is a step in the right direction.

The only reason I ever copied a movie to the hard drive was so that I wouldn't have to deal with lugging the DVDs around.

Also, does this defeat the purpose of regions or still enforce it somehow?

The Blu-Ray is beautiful. I bought the 3-disc, but rented the BR. And I played the alternate opening, and right at the ending, you can clearly see Cap frozen in ice. Much clearer with Blu-ray. The screencaps I'd seen before, you could barely see the shield, but last night I was able to freeze it (no pun intended) where you could cleanly see Captain America with his shield in the block of ice.

If you travel a lot, an Archos MP4 player is quite useful for recording anything from DVD or TV. Holds about 40 movies.

Only problem is that it records in real time. But you can programme it easily to record 8 or 9 hours (or more) overnight from your TV.

This is my problem with it.

Just give people a code to download an almost DVD quality copy of the film, and one that's been scaled down for a portable device. Screw the extra disc shenanigans.

This ^ (bitched about here). I'm also wondering if the version with the digital copy in some cases (like RAMBO, where the 2 disc crams all the special features onto the disc w/ the feature) is giving you the feature at a lower resolution. The single disc version (without special features) has the entire disc's space. Do they usually make the most of the capacity in this case?

ANyone have issues with the bluray copy and the DTS sound track? My reciever refused to switch to DTS when I selected it like 5 times. My sound seemed pretty distorted during the action parts as well.
