I thought this had been cancelled, but apparently not. I caught most of season 1 and a bit of season 2. It's quite good, but none of the characters really stand out apart from Jason Issacs. Was the rest of season 2 worth it?

I'm in exactly the same boat you are. I only got through about three or four episodes of the second season, and the most I've gotten from it is that this really is the most humorless show in the history of television. Everything they do is the most serious thing that will ever happen to anybody.

I remember Moltisanti watched it. Worth catching up on, Molt? I'll need a Shield replacement. Not that it comes to close to that.

The only thing I can really remember from the second season is that Donna from The West Wing gets naked in it and tells the politician brother could fuck her in the ass.

The second season was an improvement over the 1st. The first was really only worth it for Isaacs, who is great. The second gave a chance for more of the cast to establish themselves, mainly Ethan Embry.

I'll definitely check it out this season as I'm fairly positive this will be it. I can see why it hasn't caught on because it's a tough show for people to get into right off the bat. It's a slow burn that takes a few episodes to appreciate. But I like all the supporting folks from The Sopranos who pop up here and there and it makes for a good night of television when it's paired with Dexter.

Just doing my annual survey to see if anyone else on the planet is watching this. Anyone? Anyone at all?

Funnily enough, just watched the FBI guy beat the crap our of Michael Cafferty at the end of season 1. Looking forward to season 2. No further than that, sorry.

It's cool. I guess I should feel honored that a major cable channel has spent gobs and gobs of money to produce a program that only I watch.

That's how I felt when they showed season one of Friday Night Lights over here.

It feels like you've either got a cool secret or you're a bit sad.

It's too bad, because this past week's was a particularly good showcase for Jason Isaacs. His character has been especially bonkers this season.

I've watched everything up to the start of Season 3. And if you think the show doesn't have a sense of humor you didn't get to the Richahd Brothers furniture commercials. That was fucking hilarious and spot on, and me and my roommates (both Massholes) are constantly quoting it.

I found it pretty dry the first season but the humor is a bit more apparent as the seasons go on. The actor who plays Freddie Cork has a real talent in going from scary to funny with each line reading. That guy is great.

Also hilarious: that disgusting weasely piece of shit Moe Reilly and his weekly escapades, mostly involving him getting physically assaulted by Jason Isaacs while he's in the middle of getting a blowjob.

He has quite a memorable moment this year. Won't spoil it, but I will say he does not react rationally to a disparaging remark made about Ted Williams.

Finished up real strong.

Haven't seen the finale yet, but I just caught the episode before that. A whole lot of actors try to act tough, but just can't quite pull it off. When Isaacs was sitting in that car, and then got out, he was scary as hell. Can't wait to see the finale...

That was great. Best part was the look on his face when he suddenly realized what he did.

Let me know what you think of the finale. Some brutal stuff. Both in terms of violence and decisions made by a lot of the characters.

I'm through season two now. I plan on trying to watch season three on In Demand over the long weekend. Or On Demand. I'm not really sure.

Brutal is absolutely right. For a show like this involving a good amount of thugs, I've never found it all that violent - at least when compared to something like The Shield, which has restrictions on what it can get away with. The last two episodes almost felt like they were trying to make up for that. The torture was so intense, and not necessarily because of the violence but almost entirely because of the look in Isaac's eyes. Forget anything from horror movies, that scene was scary as hell. I thought for sure that guy was a goner...

But the death of Kilpatrick is what is sticking with me. Something about the way the actor (don't know his name) struggled with the wound (the sounds & movements were just uncomfortably realistic) and the fear going through him at that moment - just wow.

I'm not entirely sure I understand some of Tommy's reasoning behind getting Michael to leave. Obviously he wants him to stay alive, but he also mentioned his involvement with getting the informant killed. Whether Michael's in town or not, that's going to be a huge problem for him...

Either way, I'm really hoping this gets at least one more season. I'd love to see where the story progresses from here.

Yeah, that was one of the roughest moments I've seen on a TV show. So unsettling.

I gotta assume that's it for the show, though I said the same thing last year and was semi-stunned that it got 8 more episodes. Would love to see more but if that's a wrap then it did end on a real memorable note.

It's not as if we had assumed otherwise, but Brotherhood has been officially canceled.
