2008 Senate Elections

I've been watching Minnesota and Georgia pretty closely because it would be awesome if a far-left comedian was elected and Saxby Chambliss is the devil, respectively.

I don't know about other Georgia folks, but I think Chambliss is fucking scum. Put aside him morphing the face of triple-amputee Vietnam vet hero Max Cleland into Osama Bin Laden to win the seat back in 2002. This time around, he's accusing his opponent, Jim Martin, of responsibility for children dying in a fire.

But because that wasn't bad enough, he's trying to motivate Republicans to vote because "The other folks are voting". Now that might mean Democrats except he felt the need to clarify, "There has always been a rush to the polls by African-Americans early,"

I want this guy to get crushed. Under heavy machinery.

The only Republican I am really pulling for in this election is Gordon Smith. He lost his son to suicide and he's put forward a lot of great bills dealing with adolescent depression and suicidal issues. I would dearly miss his support in the Senate.

The Biden-O'Donnell race is interesting. Will enough people in Delaware be confused by that and forget how to vote?

One of the interesting things will be that Alaska, a ridiculously reliable red state, has a better than even chance of having 2/3 of its congressional delegation be Democrats after Tuesday.

No Senators for me to vote for this time around in FL. Sometimes I wish they had shorter terms and that we just had the Senate be Congress and get rid of the House of Representatives which is full of the craziest politicians in our country.
