I love that Cockfighter poster. Reminds me I need to check that movie out.

Damn, those are really nice. I really need to get these posters into frames. Now to look for some no-glare glass.

EDIT: Phil, what kind of mounting is on the back of your frames? Just curious as to what you think is the most safe/looks best.

The 58" frame piece has been a bitch to find. However, thanks to the glory of the internet may I present to the DIY'ers:

Wholesale Poster Frames

*EDIT* Six different frame styles in any custom size.

Nice. I have an enormous Raiders of the Lost Ark soundtrack promo poster that was hanging in a record store that I've been wanting to frame, so I might just bookmark that site.

Have you ever purchased from there Tzu? Just wondering about the quality. Plus I'm sure shipping is fucking astronomical.

No, just found it this AM. Went through a faux checkout. Looks like they have a flat $29.95 shipping policy on the custom frame sizes.

I'm looking at between $130 and $160 to get the poster done from them.

That was a total uninformed post. It took me a couple of months but i was able to track it down.
The last couple of weeks i bought a King kong 1933 poster, i got the TDK Why So Serious poster as a gift from a friend and i just bought these 3.

Went for the Bond quad (had it reserved) but i browsed through their selection and couldn't resist at The Warriors. And i really don't love Star Wars that much, but i can appreciate a classic poster.

I need more walls.

Finally did some re-arranging. Recently got the Bad Lieutenant poster from Mondo and got it framed via that wholesale poster frame website. Once I get some time/money, the 2012 poster will be replaced by something that's actually good.

I just hung up this little baby by Todd Slater:

It looks great on my wall.

It's sold out at Slater's website.

Fuck.

Got this for my in-development movie-watching room (picture it three feet by three feet):

(I actually have an older copy of it, but it's...not mint any more. This one supposedly is, and I'ma have it framed an' shit. Shweet.)

And also this:

Mike, what is the quality of that frame you got from the site? I still haven't ordered mine as I came down off the high I was on to completely man-geek my bedroom.

I like them. I went with Profile D so I could get the Satin Black instead of Shiny Black. Also went with the Non-Glare lens cover because I didn't want it to have a shiny glare over my poster all the time. As for the final product, I quite like it. They're sturdy and lightweight. You need to disassemble one side (the top) in order to put the frame in and remove protective plastic covers on the lens cover and stuff, which takes some time when you first figure it out, but it's actually quite easy.

So yeah. I'm happy, and once I get some extra cash to spend around, I'll be getting more frames from them.

Good to know. Sorry you had to be the guinea pig.

One more question though, how would you compare that frame to the sectional frames available in craft stores? I know the site gives us the size options I and some other people were looking for but since that is the most readily available comparison for us your thoughts would be much appreciated.

Hmm. Honestly I'm not sure. I've only ever bought one craft store frame and I hated it. I feel like craft store frames are either going to be wood/glass (and thus way heavy and worrisome if they ever fell) or plastic/plastic (which probably just looks cheap and shitty).

The frame itself is aluminum, so it's light and strong. They give good hanging mechanisms that lock into the frame. And the lens covers are nice because you can get them in regular or non-glare, and it's a plastic material so if it ever falls, no worries. Not to mention all of their lens covers are UV protected, so sunlight won't fade you posters.

Martin, I know you liked the Rushmore poster I bought and the same artist just posted a Steve Zissou poster, if you're interested.

Took the plunge. Not a movie poster but the frame is from the site I linked. Very nice frame, very nice locking and hanging hardware. Very simple to put together.

Jesus, I gotta grow up.
