Bnat X - Page 2

Jesus, Benjamin Button is an endurance test even when it's not bookended by 22 hours of other movies. Bad choice.
That bad?
I know it's been downgraded by a lot of not so favorable opinions lately, but i was sure there was still a lot to look forward too. At least technically.

It's not a good marathon festival film. After the screening wrapped (and had heard the film was a lock for BNAT) I said to Jeremy and Dev "enjoy your nap."

Well looks like they have gotten Valkyrie and 45 minutes of Up.

That sound you hear right now is Nordling having an orgasm.

Metropolis with the Moroder score is maybe the second worst way to see the film. Haha. Harry's really making them pay for the nuggets.

Looks like they wrapped it up with Che.

I bailed on CHE. Could not do that at 8am after 20 hours of movies. I wonder what percentage will actually be awake for the film.
Don't you get presents and stuff at the end?
So how was the overall experience? and more importantly, Watchmen?
Yeah, Che seems like an endurance test for the end pic just from what I have read.

I sat through CHE. I did it. Holy shit...

Gee, Mr. Soderburgh, you know what your movie was missing? At least one more shot of soldiers walking through the jungle.

Yes. Yes it was.

I guess my professional advice to Harry would be to not have so many footage presentations. This is a film festival, not Comic Con. And if studios feel that they only have to give Harry movies opening next weekend or middle January because he'll happily play 15 minutes of footage, that means he won't get any good early films.

I wasn't disappointed that WATCHMEN didn't play - I know that's studio politics at work, not bad programming - but I would have liked to have OBSERVE & REPORT, which is finished and which needs the support of a BNAT crowd.

I heard Harry hadn't seen it yet? I saw it on a Saturday at 6pm fresh and it was a slog, so it must have been brutal on you guys.

I'm struggling to think of a nice way to say putting CHE at the end was an incredibly boneheaded idea.

Anyone got the full line up?
Consider yourselves lucky for not seeing WATCHMEN early. The waves of hate being sent your way by jealous fans were bound to kill you instantly.

I'm sure if the entire internet hadn't gone full retard about the squid it would have shown up. Nice job, morons.

As I was watching the lineup unfold via Robogeek's Twitter updates, I was feeling the same way. As somebody on the outside, I didn't know if it was an accurate assessment, so I am glad to hear you say it. I'm sure it didn't help that the new films Harry did get apparently don't quite live up to their promise, and aren't particularly good choices for a marathon.

Seems like it may be slipping in that direction.

As someone who has done a bunch of DIY day-long film fests, I can't imagine how Che was chosen to wrap up the proceedings. That's nuts. Still can't wait for the year I get to go, just because the Alamo experience is so spectacular, literally no better place to watch something.

I'm not sure if he'd seen it before or not. It looked to me like he was there most of the time watching it. As for myself, halfway through CHE it became an endurance test and I wanted to see if I could make it through. Heh.

Seemed more than a little footage-and-sneak-preview-of-15-minutes heavy, but White Dog? God damn. Ending on Che sounds like he was mad at all of you.
