He really made no sense to me..just kept on rambling on and on and on.  The thing with religion is that it's a personal belief.  When it comes to politics I believe that any PERSONAL beliefs or opinions are mute when it comes to what is right for the people.  But I know that's not how it works.  Why does religion need to get in on this anyways?  Just have the state and government recognize the union.

I'll admit, though, that Obama's "evolving" stance on gay marriage rubs the same irritated nerve.  The Republicans don't have the market cornered on flying lingual figure eights.  I can understand the need for political expediency when running for an office (Hell, even Lincoln clearly employed the tactic!), but once you're in I'd have thought there was much more room for putting your cards on the table.

That said, it's nowhere near the right's ability to raise mumbo jumbo to an art form.

The asshole was on CNN again tonight and every other sentence ended with...wait for it....Religious Protections!  I finally got no nauseous listening to him I had to give up on my snack.

Whatever concessions were made to this asshole and his "base constituents" (Which, of course, included veterans, firefighters and all the other pillars of society!), they just weren't enough.  But it came to nothing for his dark age mindset...NY passed it!

(didn't we have a gay/lesbian political thread in here somewhere?)
