As a male, I approve this message.
Also, in my younger days, this movie, along with Lion King, was one of the VHS tapes that I watched so often that I broke the tape.

Love this movie. Oh, and the guy that tells Korben he's never negotiated before is the same guy in "There's Something About Mary" who fakes that he can't walk.

MAKE-UP. Still, her face ain't that bad, it's the lack of forms that's wrong.
And I saw Weisz near work during what I presume was the period she was shooting The Fountain. Stunning.

Not disagreeing with the Weisz-appeal, but I remember reading an interview where she practically admitted that she was a very hairy person.

A bunch of us on Facebook got into a huge 300+ comment-athon after Patrick mentioned the ZF-1. Finding these comment threads again on Facebook gets more difficult as time passes, so I'm saving it here for posterity.
I think those five-in-one gadget guns from Fifth Element are among the coolest fictional weapons ever. Not enough love in that direction.

Gabe Powers I get a huge 5th Element vibe off the early shit in Clones, and think the Dredd universe is A LOT like a cheaper, less CG version of 5th Elements.November 24 at 10:45pm · Like -
Joon Kim I love that music.

Piet Burns Yeah I think it's supposed to be a zany comedy for most of the running time, just some jokes don't play very well here. Did the French love it?November 24 at 10:46pm · Like -
Joon Kim I really want someone to re-score AOTC with Serra's score and Besson's choice in songs.November 24 at 10:46pm · Like -
Gabe Powers I think that SECTION of Clones is a comedy, but that is also a good point. For the most part Dredd is a comedy too. Rob Schnider says so.November 24 at 10:47pm · Unlike·

Gabe Powers I think my problem in thinking is that they all have a huge Euro-comic slant.
Man Blade Runner is a perfect counter point to 5th Element. They're both essentially graphically driven directors making live action Heavy Metal movies.November 24 at 10:49pm · Like·

Joon Kim Too bad AOTC starts with a dreary assassination attempt and political dullness. The Coruscant chase is pretty fun, but I thought it was a little too extended. And Lucas can't push the silliness enough.November 24 at 10:50pm · Like -
Patrick Ripoll Even when Lucas pushess silliness, it's like a six year old's sense of humor (Jar Jar) as opposed to a 13 year old's sense of humor (Ruby Rhod).November 24 at 10:51pm · Unlike·

Patrick Ripoll Also, as this 250+ comment(!) thread has shown, Fifth Element is RELENTLESSLY silly. Every 5 minutes there's a new baffling absurdity.
I haven't seen any of the prequels since I saw them in theaters, so I can't really comment. But Blade Runner is funny, in a "if you find round funny" sort of way.

I don't really like this movie, but certain elements of the design and world building please me immensely. Also, Chris Tucker and Leeloo were fun characters. There, I said it!
Favorite quote would have to be "Leeloodallasmultipass". I've been dropping that one in conversation since highschool, and it still manages to perplex most people
