Bands Who Got Booed off the Stage - Page 2

That Hendrix booing story is 100% true. I saw it in DAYDREAM BELIEVERS: THE MONKEES STORY, a made-for-TV opus in which Davy Jones is portrayed by a 30 year old Bulgarian actor!

I had the misfortune of seeing The Pumpkins a few weeks back. I think Billy Corgan was trying like hell to get booed off the stage. It was the second of the two night NYC engagement, and at one point he got into it with a fan who was also there the first night. The fan told him the first night sucked. I think that was staged, though.

Interestingly, Snopes confirms it.

I saw Kool and the Gang get booed at a Chicago's Pizza in Atlanta. It was a sports bar and they came on and interrupted a Braves game. Assholes.

You went to what is euphamistically known as The Smashing Pumpkins (AKA Billy 'Axl Rose' Corgins Smashing Pumpikns)?

Now? In this day and age?

What, lose a bet or something?

I went for this simple reason:
My wife had never seen them. She had tickets to Lollapalooza in '94, but got into an accident on the way to the show. We had tickets to see them in '96 at the Garden. That show was canceled a day or two before. I had seen them at a club in NYC when they did a warm up show for the Mellon Collie arena tour, but she always missed them. That is why we went. It was ass.

I'd argue she still hasn't seen them - the current incarnation is a pretty pisspoor excuse for the original 4 person lineup thats for sure.

If the queens of the stone age are opening for anyone, you'll hear Josh go off on someone, guaranteed. When they opened for Nails, each night was a new riff on how to insult a heckler. Someone threw a shoe at him when I saw him, not a good idea.

Trent himself.. yeah, he's.. easily offended.

Beat Happening makes me want to shit on puppies.

The Pearl Jam audience in the early 90's were dicks. Those guys booed the Butthole Surfers. Fuck them.

I took part in a booing of Sugar Ray. The best part was when Mark McGrath started throwing Derby shit off the stage at people. He looked like he was going to cry as he called the few people that actually showed up every name in the book.

I saw Ozzy on his "Retirement Sucks Tour", with Deftones and Korn.

Everyone loved both opening bands, but when Ozzy hit the stage, it was with a guitar player named Joe Holmes. Not Zakk Wylde.

While Ozzy didn't get booed off stage, the cries of "Zakk! Zakk! Zakk!" never stopped throughout the entire set.

Tom Waits used to open for Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention. Waits still speaks of it as if he's recalling a tour of duty in Southeast Asia.

well it was bound to happen i suppose.

i pissed trent reznor off, i think.

this minneapolis show was postponed from july. i managed to snag a sign off of the target centre that had the nin logo and "POSTPONED" in huge letters. figured id drove all that way, might as well have gotten something.

for some reason i brought it to the rescheduled show. and, being at the railing, decided it was a great idea to show trent just how dedicated his fans were, coming back and all for the new show and flashed the poster, huge smile in tow. he saw the sign. and he interrupted himself to comment on it, briefly.

him seeing my sign at about 00:16 seconds in.

guess sometimes you just can't win with T.R.

Shit, at least he thought enough of it to apologize.
