I think he was abused by Trekkies as a child. He's been popping in at random on the Trek threads all weekend...here's one:

| Ok, good. There seems to be a shift from whining towards high fiving each other over painfully unfunny, obvious jokes. The second stage of this pathetic display of geek grief has finally begun. |
And then this in the Negativity of the Average Geek Thread
Quote:
| The reason it's so jarring is because it's a total 180 from the sort of discussion that usually occurs here. It's like geeks gone feral with posters devolving into AICN-like proto-humans incapable of rational discourse (on both sides). It sort of makes it seem like a lot of what goes on around here is just a front, actually. A facade to cover up the burning, base geek behavior that still exists deep within. And at the end of the day, that's sort of sad. |
But I kind of see where he's coming from, even though I don't understand the need to post an insult in a thread you don't care about. He took it too far there with that comment to Devin, but we've all gone there sometimes. Of course, the guy we just insulted doesn't happen to be a writer on the site.
Drew S. is OK. I think it's a mix of Mindless Geek Hatred (he reminds me of my bigoted Uncle) and something personal with you, Devin. I see the reason if he was banned, but don't really care if he sticks around. He does contribute outside of those insults.
