A car just blew up in front of my house!

It shook the whole building. I thought my windows were going to shatter. I ran outside and found out it was part of the filming being down on my block today for Life on Mars. Fucking surreal.

Wow, you'd think they'd at least leave a Post-It note on your door.

Ha! I was contemplating inviso-texting that, but I'm the bastard that wears the Spoilt t-shirt proudly. They're still making a lot of noise out there, but its too cold for me too stand out there and watch.

I guess the locations department fucked up.

Don't they have to notify local residents when their going to be blowing shit up for a film/TV show? In NYC?

Maybe it was bigger than they originally intended. God knows how many people called 911 thinking the terrorists were attacking.

I didn't even think of that. I'm sure 311 got a lot of calls tonight (no one calls 911 anymore). I did see a shit load of firemen surrounding the area when I came home. I should have figured it was bigger than just shooting exterior scenes like they did last time.

It's not like they had the bomb squad out there. You probably just figured another homeless person was on fire. It's New York, after all.

Must have been fun when they filmed Die Hard with a Vengeance there.

Especially during the sandwich board scene. It must have looked strange to passerby seeing a group of men getting angry at a man wearing a blank sandwich board.

Fun movie trivia: The Die Hard scene was filmed with Willis wearing a board that said "I Hate Everybody" and the film version was done digitally in post. For the TV edit, they went back to the undoctored version of the scene.

The next scene they will be filming is guys in spacesuits beating the shit out of Joe Pesci with baseball bats and dragging his lifeless corpse into a shallow, red dusty grave.

Pesci: "Wait, where's the camera? Are those real baseball bats?"

Now I knew about the censored version being "I hate Everybody". I had no idea that was the undoctored sign.

I'd freak if a car blew up in front of my house....and then go get the camera and take pictures of that shit.

911 is so passé.
