*sob* FUCK ALL YOU PRICKS! *sob*

Can we play kickball after we all pick teams?

I'm all George Bailey over how many people apparently think the world of me. And bonus - I smell great too. You guys don't even realize.

I think everyone knows who the smart ones are and who the assholes are (not mutually exclusive categories, but who don't love some Venn diagrams?)

But trust is a tough thing to come by these days. There are specific issues I trust specific folks with:

I'd trust Swice to raise my kid, if I had a kid;
I'd trust Jake to get me out of a bar fight. I could ride on his back, like Master Blaster;
I'd trust SummerSmile with my PIN number;
I trust Timothy255 to LEAVE ME OFF THE GODDAMN NJ CHEWER ROLL CALL. AGAIN;
I trust Spike to create interesting discussion over which everyone will shit on him;
I trust Ripoll on music recommendations and to renew my faith that youngsters aren't just shitheads who want to watch the same four movies over and over;
I trust Greg David to return and make more awesomely grouchy posts at 4AM EST;
I trust (well, more like hope) BobClark won't get hisself banned;
I trust Litmus will keep the Myers87 fire burning;
I trust that I'm the only one who still loves Paul McCartney's crazy bullshit.

Fat Elvis, Francis Wolcott and Judas Booth are new-ish guys who have good stuff to contribute. Widen the circle jerk and let the fresh fish in.

I'm not naming staff; if I didn't trust them why the fuck would I read the site?

What about you? Did I forget you? It's 2AM. Don't take it personally. I can barely type right now. Happy Thanksgiving, citizens. I'm thankful for all y'all.

Every Texan Chewer. This is a state requirement. Emphasis on Greg Clark and BillyG. Also, Bayouradio whenever he graces us with his presence.

Props to all the staff reviewers, especially the guys that are regulars for DVDs -- Anderson, in particular.

But seriously, Nick -- thanks so much for puting up with all of us. You, sir, have a bitchin' website and a top-rate crew, no exceptions.

Also, while I'll never be the most movie-savvy person logged in here, my time on CHUD has been one of the most rewarding experiences in recent memory. There is quite literally no other place on the net that has helped to define who I am as much as the people and the culture here. I seriously cannot think of another website that has created so many real-world/off-the-net contacts that I can honestly call friends.

Holy crap, that got sappy very quickly... Ahem.

You guys rock. All of ya.

No problem Phil. Keep on loving that rope.

I trust the guys and gals that were here when I first joined in August of 2000

I trust several. I respect most. I distrust some. I dislike few.

Considering this is a board featuring a wide variety of opinionated folks on an even wider variety of diverse topics, I think that's a pretty fantastic love/hate ratio, and that's why I enjoy these forums so much. There are far more heroes than villains here.

I don't even trust myself.

My posse:
wadew1, paul mccartney, moltisanti, bobclark, duke... fleed!
post #62 of 80
Sometimes I wonder why I even registered on these boards because the following have said whatever it is I am thinking, but in a much more articulate, witty manner:

Moltisanti
Jackknife Johnny
Phil
Litmus
Ed Hocken
DaveB
MissZooey
Tati
Jake
Darkmites

To fill the "distrust" quotient: InTheShadows.

I really don't like that guy.

There really isn't anyone that I don't like around here. I don't know why, just nobody's bothered me so much that I'm still thinking about it after I've closed out the thread we've had a disagreement in. Like Phil I'm not going to name staff, because why would we even be here in the first place of those guys weren't worth it.

As for posters that I like:

LisaNY (What can I say that everyone else hasn't? She's like the nicest person ever.)
Phil (I just tend to agree with his opinions, and he's always conversational in the CHUD Chat Room.)
Diva (I love the gossip threads and always a great conversation catalyst in the LOST related threads. Plus we got drunk together and played pool, so that was pretty awesome.)
Matchstick (Yeah, he's kind of like semi-staff, but his posts always make me laugh and he's fun in the television threads.)
EdHocken (Just great all around poster.)
Renn Brown (We're pretty much the same age and generally have the same opinion about film and the like. He's got Photoshop skills too, ladies.)
duke fleed (Honestly, he's so non-threatening and he likes the Dolphins. That's all I need.)

Honorable mention: Raspberry Leper. Always makes me crack up.

Ha, I don't really care. Not so bad to be divisive. But trust and like are too different things, and I don't lie about shit on these boards.

I trust all of you, even if I think you're wrong. I even trust El Cap to keep me up to date on the Joe the Plumber situation.

I'm stealing Rath's text and making a few corrections to my tastes.

Generally if Dre, Russ, Devin, Beaks (rip), Slater and Kirby are in relative agreement on something, you know it's pretty good. Those are probably the people on the board/site that I've come to trust almost implicitly regarding films.

Casey Moore and Ryan S are invaluable "industry guys," as is Slater.

I dig hearing Sean Bateman's take on things, even if I don't always agree.

I like Nick's writing but disagree with several of his recommendations.

Oh, and everyone who posts in the Wire-related threads.
post #66 of 80
I think there's a lot of people I trust on the boards but I always still read there reason for liking something. DaveB waxes eloquently about Knocked Up but I still think it's not a very entertaining movie.

But people who I read on a regular basis for thought provocation or just because they're funny:

DaveB, Miss Zooey, Phil, Rath, the Gregs, Russ Fischer, Casey Moore, yt, FrankCobretti (we miss ya Frank!), Sean Bateman, Alex, Dre, tati, Martin Savage, stormin, and to add a new guy Joon.

People who I think seem like a decent sort:

Most of the people listed above plus BMetal, trejo, Rain Dog, Xagarath, JG Butler, Nexus, A&P, Ripoll (if he'd stop doing the Slater Jr schtick), and Litmus

My favorites are the unassuming posters who'll show up in a thread, add something solid and concise, and then get out of the way with no fanfare or personal nonsense. You know, something in the way of a Supremo or a le Stephanois, or other names I can't recall now, but when I see I think 'ah, this guy is good.'

Also, I'll admire anyone who can post at a consistent low frequency, since half the posts I make are quite useless and yet I can't help myself.

There are exceptions, of course, like DaveB, who posts a lot of words in a lot of threads but keeps the quality high and the other stuff low.

It'd probably help if you guys would put Jersey in your profile as your location. I know you're from Jersey from my own personal knowledge, but wouldn't have if Alex hadn't told me. And I had no idea Phil was a Jerseyan until I just read it in the post you quoted. Which is a damn shame because I dig the hell out of what Phil posts, and he would definitely have gotten a Jersey Chewer ChudBQ invite if I had known he was local.

I probably oughta add Mike Howland; I trust him to render a chuckle each week with the newest edition of "Rated ARrrrrrghh!" Hell, I trusted him enough to order a T-shirt, and one was actually delivered! He's GOTTA be stack-of-Bibles trustworthy after that, right?

You guys are not alone. Just as Molti, it takes a lot of smarts to be the funniest guy in the classroom, and that's what counts for me: the smarts, not the funny. Even if opinions differ.

Chewers I don't trust? Hmmm, I couldn't even remember one. I don't post that consistently to notice who I tend to disagree with. I can name a few trolls, but I let them be. Other than that, if you got any kind of PM or email from me, you'll know you are recipients of my salty, sticky love.

But damn, I wish CHUD had a shoulder so I could put my arms around it. Or something.

Remember when Xagorath got in such a kerfuffle over STAR WARS being a remake? How far he's come.

Is swedish miyagi even still here? Or did I miss some spectacular farewell?

He decided that enough collective abuse on his ass was enough, but he didn't seemed to be the intelligent type, so I'm guessing he's still here under a different alias.

I refuse to trust this statement, therefor I'm putting Savage in my distrusted list.

Thanks, Ig! And a thousand pardons to you, Jcassady. Forgot you were from the Garden State - I suck, I know.

Blanket statement: If any of youse Chewers is from Joisey, youse is good people in my book. I trusts ya implicitly, ya mugs!

I think we should spend the entire third page of this thread just marveling at how phenomenally horrible Ambler's tastes are. I've dug a hole in my brain scratching my head at his posts the last few weeks.

I really don't trust any of you bitches
