I just posted this in the "Economy Oops" thread but I think it deserves a thread of it's own.
Here is a YouTube compilation of clips of Peter Schiff, a fund manager, predicting the current credit crisis in 2006-2007 and being shouted down (literally) over and over by such economic experts as Ben Stein.

What gets me is how Stein et al (but Stein especially) do not try to argue the facts with Schiff but sneer at him openly , berating him and demanding to know why he's so "pessimistic" and scream that he's "just wrong". This kind of shit makes me despair that we can have any meaningful dialogue in this country when so much of the "news" media is conducted in this "bread and circuses" manner.
You cannot make any kind of informed decision about the stocks discussed in these clips, or the economy, or anything else, on either side, becuase it's all just noise.
These clips really summarize the "what, me worry" mentality of the last 7 years.
