Palin vs. Ludacris in Atlanta!

Which shall have the honor of entertaining me?

http://www.ajc.com/news/content/metr...e1201_web.html

Sarah Palin is campaigning for the devil himself, Saxby Chambliss, and will be speaking at the Gwinnett Arena tomorrow afternoon. Ludacris will be joining Jim Martin on the steps of the state Capitol about an hour later. I'm always up for some free entertainment, and I've already voted so I don't need to be convinced. I think I'm going to choose the party in the street over the rally full of hate speech and fear mongering. I suppose the latter could be educational, though.

Are any other Georgians going to see Martin or Chambliss at any of their rallies tomorrow?

I hope they both fall and break their hip.

The politicians, not Ludacris.

Wishing that on Chambliss is understandable, but what has Martin ever done to you?

All they've done is extended horrible political ads in front of my eyes an extra month. Fuck them. They've lost my damn vote.
Lets all just stop giving that failed science experiment the attention she doesn't deserve.
Those ads really are flying fast and furious (and not the good kind with cars) every night, aren't they? Can't MUTE them fast enough.

The Luda appearance is sure to be amusing. I'm sure Palin will pull a huge crowd from the Northlands.

If Chambliss weren't such a despicable excuse for a human being, I'd say let him win as long as I don't have to see any more ads. As it stands, I'll survive two more days and then sigh when the retarded people of Georgia vote him back into office.

The junkmail is even worse than the ads. I need a "Return To Sender" stamp- my wrist is starting to hurt. I actually haven't had much time to watch tv lately, but it seems like I've seen 5 Chambliss commercials for every 1 Martin ad. Or is that just me?

His grandkids aren't old enough to vote...

God I wish I were in Georgia so I could be inundated with raunchy political ads.

I feel like a piece of myself is lost and crying out since the election ended. I'd take anything at this point.
Even Palin performing her SNL "rap" to one up Luda.

The one she refused to do on SNL? I'd go see her if I thought there was a chance in hell of that happening. But there isn't.

Speaking of Palin and her rapping/"raise the roof" gesturing on SNL, I'm always weirded out by how many white racists embrace hip hop culture. It's not like Rock, which has not been a "black" genre for about fifty years. It's pretty hard to shake the connection of blackness to hip hop... you'd think that would lead them to shy away from embracing. It also doesn't seem to add anything to their appeal among their core supporters. Is it just a super cynical way of pandering to non-knuckle draggers?

They don't understand the contradiction.

Living on the GA border, I have the distinct pleasure of watching these ads. My favorite features Chambliss parading his hick family while looking like Kramer in the Seinfeld episode where he falls asleep in the tanning bed.

I'm sorry, but there was something distinctly creepy and off about that ad.

"We're welcoming two new graaaaaand babies into our cult."

"Aaaaaand vote fuh mah Big Daddy", as the greasy, red faced Chambliss gazes down lovingly at the poor, unfortunate girl sitting down in his lap.

Edited: Totally missed Kevin's link. Yes. Worst ad ever.

"I'm Saxby Chambliss and I sure do approve the living shit out of this message."

“Sarah! Sarah! Sarah!,” they chanted. One woman stood behind Palin with a huge red sign that read: “Save My Gun.”
I've been thinking more and more about moving out of state. Stuff like this is hastening that decision.

Anybody get the robo-call from Bill Clinton regarding the run-off?

It's the most surreal half second after you answer the phone and hear "Hello. This is President Bill Clinton...".

Ditto. I'm contemplating NYC, myself.

Damn! I thought Ludacris and Palin were doing a show together. Now I'll never know what their duet would have been!
Well, I voted. I almost didn't get a chance to due to a mixup with an absentee ballot that arrived too late, but after voiding out the ballot I was allowed to vote. Not that I think it'll do much good.

Well, MSNBC called for for creepy Big Daddy a few hours ago.

Ah well.

Sometimes I really hate it when I'm right.

Good thing it doesn't happen all that often. . . .

We've got an overstock of Crazies here, same as anywhere else, but they tend to be of the raving-homeless/tripping-club-kid/paranoid-schizophrenic type, as opposed to the straight-up bigots the south seems to favor.
