Didn't Valve do their own Source update of HL with the launch of Steam or something?

It'd be nice to see another unofficial mod get picked up, they're good at doing that. It's the only way it'd see light of day on consoles.

I never actually finished Half-Life: Source, but I don't recall it changing as much as this seems to.

I still play the original game, but then again I'm the one that still plays all the original Dooms and Quakes too.

I don't know, I don't think Half Life has aged so badly. At first everything seems a bit weirdly proportioned in comparison to modern games - kind of like you're controlling a hyperactive dwarf guy - but once you get over that it's still a lot fun to play. In terms of variety of enemies and the think-on-your-feet energy of the gunfights it might even beat the sequel. I'm another guy who actively enjoys the aesthetics of old games, though.

All that said, i'd love to check out a revamp, though these kind of ambitious fan projects rarely live up to the potential at their heart. If Valve themselves were behind it I'd be well up for it.

Half life has aged well, then again, I still enjoy old arcade games so it might be a matter of how old you are. Basically the gameplay is still solid, and while the graphics are outdated they are still well done and have a consistent look.

I long considered this vaporware. It figures that now that I've given up PC gaming for the indefinite future it finally gets finished.

Hey, waitaminute...the trailer shows you with the .357 in the middle of 'Blastpit' (as opposed to the end).

This mod, therefore, sucks.

I'm still waiting for Episode 3 before I play Episodes 1 and 2. Maybe I'll have the opportunity to play this HL revamp, then HL2 again, then all 3 episodes in a row. Not a bad way to spend 60 or so hours.
