Uncharted 2 - Page 2

So when is the demo making the rounds? I'm already anticipating this like crazy.

There may not be a demo for this. The multiplayer beta going on right now is code only (subscribe to Qore or buy inFamous with a pre-order bonus disc). I don't think they're planning on opening it up to non-code members though.
There is no pre-order bonus disc. It's just a card with the code on it when you buy infamous. Just look for the sticker on the packaging.

Ah thanks for clearing that up, I actually haven't been to a retail store that sells video games since the codes came out so I had never seen it in person.
This sucks, although based on the first game, I'll be blind buying it, even if there isn't a demo disc, or PSN demo.
No problem. Just wanted to let people know incase they thought they missed out by not pre-ordering InFamous.

Maybe these Indy-type games should use a "luck" meter that is functionally no different from health but decreases from bullets that should have hit you, until it runs out and the next bullet drops you.
Really solid. And I'm struck, while I'm playing co-op, how much like Army of Two it feels like. 2 weapons with smallish clips and reserve, not many grenades, cover, helping each other out a lot, multi part moving shit to break up the shooting events, all about the Benjamins, harder enemies that are just normal enemies with bigger guns and better armor, skull masks...
Ok, here's the plan. One of you guys loan me your PS3 so I can play this and I'll return it............someday.

New Uncharted 2 trailer.

And hey, look who's back.
"I'm last years model."

Perfect.
For all intents and purposes, Uncharted is the Indiana Jones of this generation. I cannot wait for this.
This game makes for wonderful trailers.
This game is blast so far regarding the multiplayer. Just too much fucking fun.
You know what would be more fun? Letting me play!

Seriously, with the good things I keep hearing from my friend who is playing through inFamous and this beta it gets harder and harder to keep from buying it just to get in.

Luckily I'm really cheap and can just look at the $60 price tag and remind myself that it's not worth it for access to a beta.
It'll be all the sweeter when I get to play the finished product. That's what I keep telling myself.

Three player co-op is such a glorious thing. CHUD-style chaos anyone?

Yes, it could be greatness. If it does end up being as fun as it sounds, I hope they will do a better job of supporting the co-op than Insomniac.
I've only been able to jump into the beta once- yesterday morning after the beta had been live for, what, maybe 12-13 hours? I could only find a competitive match and played against a couple guys who were already at levels 18 and 20. I quickly found out why they were that high. Hooray for spawn camping. I don't quite get the lure of spawn camping, particularly in a beta. Do you get additional perk options as you level up? I leveled up once but got nothing.

Anyway, other than those douchebags, I liked the few minutes I played. There's a serious case of Halo Syndrome going on, though. I shouldn't be putting two mags into a guys face while he's running at me only to have him kill me rather than the other way around.
Not a fan. The jumping/climbing is just to slow for mp, and like Grave said, takes to fucking long to kill people. When I'm blasting away at someone and they have time to turn around and look at me before slowly ducking behind cover to regenerate and start the process over, the guns need more bang.
I'm assuming it's beta because they're aiming to fix issues like this with community input?
Hopefully, yeah. Another problem I noticed with deathmatch, and this might be all me, but I can't see the "villains" team at all. They blend in with the map far too much.

Competitive mode has plenty o' issues but Co-op is a lot of fun, though.
It's not just you.

Assuming the campaign is about as long as the first game I'll have just enough time to finish it up before the RAMPAGE overtakes me.

1up has an interview that's pretty good.

Some key points though:
  • Uncharted 2 will have "significantly longer single-player."
  • GameStop preorder gets multiplayer demo starting September 15, everyone else gets it 2 weeks after that
  • No single player demo
  • Uncharted 2 has 90 minutes of cinematics compared to 50 minutes in the original
  • You'll have a number of different allies throughout the game
  • The game [thankfully] doesn't have any 'morality choices' really
post #76 of 534
Well, the Gamestop Beta demo opens up this tues for those that preordered thru them. Two weeks after that its an open Beta....looking GOTY good!!!

Hope to see some of you online!
Plus the game just went gold <rubs hands together in anticipation>.

I'll wait to play the mulitplayer until I can accrue XP anyway (since single player, competitive, and co-op all accrue XP you can use in the different modes) since I don't imagine the multi-player demo XP will carryover to the full game.

I would think, yes. There is a collector edition (ES 200 only) that can be had by winning somehow..that I am curious about....

Uncharted is the first game ever where I unlocked Everything.......will do the same with 2!

It doesn't hurt to get a hang of the controls or the maps in multiplayer. I hope they fixed some of the issues I had with the previous beta.

Well, Games Radar has a positively glowing review up.

Man, I cannot wait for this game.
HGGGGGG.

Pre-ordered this the other night when I got LBP GOTY Edition and Ratchet and Clank. Need it so much right now.
I'm going out and pre-ordering this.

Not to mention pause the game and fist-punch the air as we stumble across another impressive environment to swing, climb and blast our way through..
Oh hell yes. Can't wait for this game. I believed this after the first game but it really sounds like Naughty Dog is making a strong case for the Tomb Raider series to just die off.

Also, screw sites that spread reviews over multiple pages to generate more page hits.
I'm watching the IGN video review right now. Between this and Brutal Legend, October looks awesome!
IGN gave it a 9.5.....pretty fantastic...not that I need a review to know this is a day one purchase....just needs to come out.

Been playing the online Beta this week - abaolutely enjoying it!
This game is definitely on my list of games to get in october. The first Uncharted was amazing, and from the reviews I've read, the 2nd one is even better.

And 33.3% longer too...........Beta has been great! My friends list has gone from 3 to 10 in just a week.....
The weekly PSN newsletter tells me the multiplayer beta will be available for everyone on Tuesday. I'm interested to see the changes they've hopefully made since the last beta period.
That slower trailer that starts with Drake crawling in the snow is almost brilliant. It does look gorgeous.

Why isn't this out yet?
Because you defile yourself under God's watchful eye.

I saw more gameplay footage of this in Gamestop yesterday (yes, shut up) and I would have strangled all the bastard kids in that store to get my hands on an early copy. I was planning on doing it anyway, especially after hearing this one little fuck call the clerk a liar because he said that he couldn't sell him an M-rated game without his mom's consent.
I tend to play mostly on my XBox 360, largely because of the ability to chat to people all the time whilst doing single player, but once this game drops my PS3 is becoming king of the castle for a month or so. Just looks amazing and the first Uncharted is still the only PS3 exclusive I actually like.
I like that the new game definitely seems to be showing off the PS3 hardware a good bit more than the first one. If I was one of those "wait-in-line-at-midnight" guys, this would be the game I'd do it for.

Yeah, my pre-order with Amazon is for release date delivery. Of course I'll spend all day waiting for the delivery guy so I don't know that it's an improvement over driving out to Best Buy at lunch and staring at it the rest of the day.

Reminder, the multiplayer demo will be open to all starting today at 11 AM (no idea on the timezone there).
By "all" does that mean everyone in the US?

Also, it's not Thursday - isn't that when they usually update?

It'll be available for you at 7PM. See the EU PS blog.
So I guess it'll be up in about 50 minutes for everyone.

Ta nachos. I don't really check the official blogs anymore, probably should!

The official US one actually gets a ton of content, not sure about the EU one though.
