It finally happened

A year and a half ago the wife and I decided to have a baby. We tried unseccessfully for all this time. She finally got put on a medicine to control her cycles and I got put on a testosterone cream to help on my end.

We have been trying for six more months after starting thess treatments. I was starting to think it was never going to heppen.

Someone told us when things got most stressful, it would finally happen.

Last month I was hospitalized for a week with a strange blood infection that shot my heart rate to close to 200, my temperature over 100 and complelely dehydrated me. I was in bad shape. Add to that fact that my wifes job might be outsourcing and we were facing losing her pay and our health insurance.

Things were stressful.

Well, my health is returning to normal and her job is looking a little more secure.

And we finally got pregnant. 5 weeks along, baby due in August.

I have never been so releived and happy in my entire life.

Congratulations.

Just don't do something lame like calling it Starving Puppy.

Congrats.

It took my wife and I two years of drugs and schedules but we finally got twins out of it. Believe me, I understand the relief you feel.

Edit: I just wanted to add that it is still early so for all you know there could be a solid half dozen in there. I'm just saying.

Nice shooting, tex.

Now, my question to Dan Baker and Starving Dog is, did either of you do anything you thought might have prevented childbirth? I'm looking for suggestions, they could come in handy...

Sounds like hell...but congrats!

I'm 38 and slightly out of shape. My testosterone count was slightly below average but my sperm count was extraordinarily high, so I think it was mainly my age. I have developed a case of ED and my blood pressure medicinw doesn't help, so that made it tougher as well.

Congratulations on managing to reproduce despite your subpar testosterone and erectile dysfunction.

A baby on the way and testosterone cream. I believe this song is appropriate.

Congrats!

And welcome to The Hell of the Pregnancy side effects, which will be quickly followed by the Hell of Screaming Diaper Monster.

It's great. Really.

Way to go, Dog! Here's hoping your kid is healthy and happy and grows up to be successful, so you and the Mrs. can sponge off him/her in your golden years.

Way to go, SD!

After two years of trying I was diagnosed with genetic azospermia. It was a helluva thing to go through. We had to mourn for the loss of someone who never existed. After a few months of moping and lots of late night talks we decided to use a donor. We beat the odds in that it took only two rounds of insemination to get pregnant. On April 15th of this year my wife gave birth to a beautiful little girl.

I'll tell you right now I may have mourned the loss of a child I never had but I cannot imagine having any other child then Keziah. She's sweet, giggly and full of life. The best part is that people keep saying how much she looks like me. The look on their face when we say "thanks, you never know when you order something online what you're going to get" is always priceless.

Congrats, man.

Doc told us its gonna be a hot summer, so I should be prepared. My dad told me I should take up jogging so when things get bad I can run far, far away.

way to go.

When you are ready for a second one let us know. I can get you some stuff that is all natural and good for you, and make Viagra look like a pseudo. The only real down side to this stuff is it cost a $150 per month.

Oh, fuck, I missed that part of it. One of my best friends had her baby in August. She already had high blood pressure and that didn't help. Her husband said that ice cream, cool water foot baths and saying damn to the the electrical bills saved his life.

I got lucky and Mrs H was in her third tri in winter. She was itchy but not overheating.

Next time, definitely allow eenin to hook you up, and then write about the experience.

Until then, congratulations.

We timed the conception to make sure the wife wouldn't be pregnant during summer. She said there was no way she could stand an Alabama summer while packing an extra 30 lbs.

We're in Oklahoma, so I expect it to be pretty tough on her.

Ryan, the ice cream, cold water foot baths and air conditioning will probably be a must in our house. No doubt

Congrats. Get your sleep while you can. My son didn't start consistently sleeping through the night until he was almost 2. Some people tell me, "Oh, by week 2 my baby was sleeping through the night! Isn't that wonderful!" And then I punch those people.

Also, when you have one, people like to throw in the "Only one? If you have more, it gets so much easier!" I tell those people that they can come watch my additional kids if it's so easy. So we only have the one. And that's all.
