I wanted to love this demo but something felt really off. It felt dated.

Resident Evil 5 syndrome? What I mean by that is RE4 and (especially)Riddick felt ahead of their time in some ways last gen.

The RE5 demo disappointed the fuck out of me. Mostly due to the AI co-op, I think. And the fact the RE4 controls were amazing at the time for a Resident Evil game. Now they blow. Sorry for the derail.

The Demo is basically the old game with a new weapon (those curvy blades from Chronicles of Riddick) and the ability to hop aboard a machine and control "drones". I thought the original game was pretty damn good, so I had fun with it.

Yeah, not feeling the love this either, which is shame because Escape from butcher bay was one of the top 3 games for me last generation.

The core mechanic's feel exactly the same and the graphics feel a little dated to say the least. I was expecting more of an update, gameplay and graphics wise.

I was amazed at the amount of aliasing in the demo. It almost looked like a 480p resolution. Demo definitely didn't sell me on the full game.

Yeah, I thought my ps3 accidently switched to SD when the demo first loaded.

The core gameplay is still alotta fun, but you'd think after all that development time they'd add something more substantial to the game. I know its just the demo and kinda hope the full game has more to it. I'll wait for the reviews before I pick this up.

I thought the demo was fine but I don't have an HDTV or any of that noise. I'll certainly give the game a rental.

Well...um.

It was okay?

It was like playing a prettier Butcher Bay set on a space ship. I loved Butcher Bay but that was like 4 1/2 years ago. It would be more honest to market it as an expansion or something.

Picked this up, but I haven't played Dark Athena yet. I'm still playing Butcher Bay. The load times are terrible for a game that was 5 years ago.

How's multiplayer?

Impressions?

The game was officially released yesterday although it looks like a lot of places broke street date. I'm feverishly trying to find the time to finish building my new gaming rig, as this laptop can barely play Half Life 1.... so can anyone post some impressions?

After having read the Game Informer review of this game, I'm thinking I might go rent it and see if its as good as the review made it seem. They gave it a 9.5/10, with the Second Opinion giving it a 9.25/10, along with their Game of the Month award. Do you think its really worthy of ratings that high?

From what I've read, that seems like an inflated GI score(go figure).

Game Informer worthless except for odd exclusives. Assassin's Creed 2 look was great.

I've only put one night into Dark Athena so far, but it's pretty fun. If you've seen any of the ten million videos, then you've seen the game. I've yet to really master the controls in order to be able to execute combos at will and etc, but I did stab some guy in the top of his head and watch my knife slide back out again as his body slowly fell.

There's a patch out already, btw.
