Indeed. From what I've read conscription was introduced fairly early on before the war started. There was a secret police that actively sought dissenters and locked them up or tortued them. Not too mention the inssesant propaganda machine.
Ultimately a good portion of these soldiers were average people, born in the wrong country at the wrong time with the wrong set of maniacs in charge.
But that's how it goes. Should individual US soldiers be held responsible for the policies of the Bush govt in Iraq?
Edit: Anyway, to repeat my point, the casual racism that's apparently in RE5 bothers me less than the "War is entertainment" genre with it's reproduction of historical
and modern military situations devoid of any moral complexity.
