Good Wii Games For Kids Under 10

Don't know much about this system but I'm looking for a couple games to give as gifts. Trying to stay away from stuff involving Mario since I'm sure those bases will be covered by others. Help is appreciated.

Boom Blox or whatever is pretty decent. My little step brother (he's 9) loves it.

Wario Ware Smooth Moves.

This one is pretty great. At the opposite end of the spectrum, I'd suggest Animal Crossing (whatever the Wii version is called) for a nice, easy long-term experience, to differentiate it from the quick minigames of the other "kids" offerings.

Rayman Raving Rabbids (either the first or the other two sequels) is a must in my book...gave a pack of the first two titles in the series as a present to my nephews (two males 10 and 8 years old, and one girl, 4 years old) and they love it to death...their mum wasnt keen on the belchinh minigame, but its a great party game for kids and adults alike.

My kids love Wario Ware.

Also, I don't consider it Mario related and chances are if they don't have them they won't get them as gifts, I had a hard time finding a copy at the store (only got it used).

Good Wii games for young kids? I'd probably go with any Wii game.

"Hey kids, how you likin' that No More Heroes game I got you for Christmas?"
"Fuck you, Uncle Molti."
"That's my boy."

Everyone who owns a Wii should have Boom Blox. It's fun for the whole family.

Damn, if they were over 10 I would have suggested Smash Brothers.

There's A Puppy In My Van is a hoot. You can never fail with Your Parents Are In The Hospital And They Asked Me To Pick You Up either.

I'm getting my 7 year old Animal Crossing: City Folk for Christmas. I haven't actually played any of the games in the series, but it looks like something really cute and simple that they can get into. I know you said no Mario, but Mario Kart Wii is really good and easy for kids. (Well maybe not the 150cc mode)

Also, Nights: Journey of Dreams is a pretty fun cute game for kids. It's not very deep, and is nowhere near as awesome as the original, but it should keep kids fairly entertained.

Animal Crossing might be a good one. It's a fun cute little thing. And Mario Kart also.

Ten is too young for Smash Brothers?

Yeah, Smash Bros. is probably fine for a 7 year old or whatever.

I've got to echo Boom Blox. Very fun(for anyone, really), and it recently went down in price a little bit.

My son was 3 and was playing Smash Bros. just fine.

My six year old has beaten both LEGO Star Wars' and LEGO Indiana Jones. He is getting LEGO Batman for his birthday.

Boom Blox really owns this thread. It's ideal.

Now I have 4 Wii controls, so I'm really looking for games that are fun for kids but feature nice multiplayer modes. Was hoping to get Mario Kart over the holidays but couldn't find a copy. However, it sounds like Boom Blox would be great for multiplayer, I may give that a try first.
