DVD's coming out on Fridays now???

Is it me or does it seem the industry may be adding a DVD release day to the week in the '09?

like on the 19th (which is a friday) the Don Cheadle/Guy Pearce flick Traitor is hitting on DVD and I noticed it was not the only one on that date and as well their are releases the following friday.. which is kind of odd.

I could see AB putting out Traitor on the 19th for some extra before the holiday shelf times, but the ones the week after are well after the Holiday so it doesn't make much sense... paint me perplexed

although I will say a Friday release day may not be a bad idea as most get paid Friday's

Joss Whedon's Dr. Horrible is also scheduled for that Friday according to Amazon. Strangely enough, Burn After Reading, Death Race, Hamlet II and The Women are scheduled to come out on Sunday the 21st.

I think it is a Christmas thing. The 23rd has little to no releases and everything big comes out on Dec. 27 (a Saturday). The next week everything is back to normal Tuesdays.

Considering how many retailers violate street date, I'm surprised that anyone posts an actual release date anymore.
