From dear Mr. Chris Olson I received the novel 'The Name of the Wind' by Patrick Rothfuss and the one Blu Ray movie I wanted more than anything: WALL*E! I think I know what I'm doing with all my time off this month...

Hammerhead got me The Invention of Hugo Cabret, not knowing I am a youth services librarian and that I really needed to read that book sometime in the near future, and now I have no excuse. It looks fantastic.

Thanks, Hammerhead! Way to be psychic!

I predict this years personal haul will be stellar...FOR EVERYONE!!

From Hammerhead!!!! It's a Star Wars Movie Poster Sculpture based in the original poster from the first movie.

I haven't heard of either party prior to this, but I'm always looking for new things. Thanks, Spike!

Anderson came through with the 1979 Johnny Cash Christmas Special DVD and the new Todd Rundgren CD. I will throw in the DVD when my family comes to visit for the holidays and I've already uploaded the CD to my iPod. Thanks sir!!

YES! Yes I did, my bad in not mentioning that. When I was typing the post, I just had the DVD and the CD in front of me. My brain was friend on cough medicine and I didn't even think of the gift card since it wasn't right in front of my face. Thanks again!!

Cordo, you maniac! You blew it up! Ah, damn you! God damn you to hell!

Guys.. in the Christmas Gift Exchange, Mr. Eric Cordo's generosity is un-fucking-touchable.

Recieved the Planet of the Apes 40-Year Evolution collection on Blu-ray, and I'm terrified to know what a set like this costs. So effing awesome, and believe it or not, but outside of the *shudder* remake, I don't think I've ever sat down and seen one of these films in its entirety. This bad boy shall keep me well occupied through the holidays and new year.

Thank you so much Eric! This is a hell of a gift to send a virtual stranger, I'm still completely taken-back. And addressing it to 'The Outlaw Jesse..' was très classy

Merry Christmas you wonderful bastard

I'm thinking you'll appreciate the League more than Dan Le Sac. I'm just shocked at how fast they got there.

That is indeed way cool! I love the first film. Haven't seen any of the others. And now I feel like a chump for spending a modest amount on Cordo. I'm a poor student!!!!
The League of Gentlemen (at least the first 2 seasons and Christmas special) are brilliant...I envy ANYONE seeing those for the first time.
I got home from work today and discovered this waiting for me:

And the most generous Matt M. has informed me that I can expect yet another package in the next couple of days.

Thank you so much, Matt. It is really appreciated.

What do you mean you haven't seen the films????
You undeserving bastard!

I was privileged enough today to open up the beautiful package from cornbreadicus: The Films of Alejandro Jodorowsky Box Set with Fando y Lis, El Topo and The Holy Mountain, plus some soundtracks and his short La Cravate. I've only seen The Holy Mountain, so I'm ecstatic to explore some more of his films.

Thank you!
Crap. Now my package to Kid makes me nervous. Criterion and Box sets are so intimidating when others receive them.

It was an experimental gift year for me, I'll see how it works out.
I hope Pyschout recieves his gift.

You're part of the problem.
I took off work today and posted my cell phone number on my front door. So the odds are good I'll get the package. They are also good I'll have psycho strangers prank calling me.

If you took the day off solely for the package, you are going to be sorely disappointed.
What's your number?

...heh.
A day off is a day off. It's never bad.
Just got mine from Helmet and here's a Google Image of the item:

It's not exactly what the mug looks like. But it's still the best mug this side of "Don't Be Ellis". Thanks Helmet

Now I'm especially glad I sprung for this as you haven't really gotten the opportunity to experience all of those films yet. I don't even have it myself yet (I'm fairly certain my brother is getting it for me, though), so when I was thinking of what to get it was basically a "What would I want?" situation.

I'm glad you like it!
So I get home tonight, and there's another package waiting for me. All I can say is that the second "M" in Matt M. must stand for "The Man" (with the second "t" being "the"...or something) because I am now the proud owner of:

From Hell by Alan Moore and Eddie Campbell
All Star Superman Vol. 1 by Grant Morrison and Frank Quietly (with Jamie Grant)

and

Little Brother X by Cory Doctorow

I am so looking forward to reading all of these, and I would like to publicly thank Mr. M. for the wonderful, excellent gifts.

You know, don't fret. Mine to you was pretty experimental, as well.

I, for one, would appreciate a rundown on your thoughts after watching those suckers. Perhaps in the reader reviews forum?

Been way too long since I saw them, too.

Your welcome. I really hope you enjoy. I envy anyone seeing El Topo for the first time. It's an experience.

Graham's profiling instinct revealed to him that despite my abiding love for stop-motion animation I did not yet possess these items:

He included the book Stop Motion: Passion, Process and Performance for good measure. Fantastic!
I want to go to there...

Trejo got me exactly what I wanted without even asking me exactly what I wanted - he just knew. I love you, Giles.
It's a Criterion Christmas here at CHUD -- the wonderful Mr. Eaton hooked me up with a copy of The Third Man on DVD. As Andrew and I are Facebook buddies, he has been subjected to my constant whining about somebody stealing this last summer for a while now.

Andrew also got me a copy of the Pitchfork 500, which already looks great, and Miles Davis' first album. Which I didn't have. Thanks, Eaton.

Whew, it made it before Christmas after all! Amazon delivery is no joke!

I was pretty worried about how late that was going out, since Chungking didn't even come out till the 16th of the month.. *sigh of relief*

Still hoping you hadn't read The Road yet and didn't buy yourself the ol' Express over the past 4 days, since I'm sure you'd deny it to the grave either way!

Merry Christmas my good sir

After a much stressful battle with UPS, bendix's package finally arrived. I received:

This is really great. I never buy books for myself but I like to read. So I will be diving into this over the winter break.

I'm going to plan a Sopranos dinner party where me and my friends watch our favorite eps while drinking lots of wine and eating delicious foods from the cookbook.

Thanks again, b!
You guys are waaaaaaaaaaay easier to shop for than my family.
I actually said 'Holy Shit' when I realised what Justin Clark had got me.

I'm a massive Bond geek anyways so the Casino Royale loveliness is incredible, but I'm so fucking appreciative of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen it's unreal. Been wanting to read it for a long, long time.
Very very nice indeed.

Kimbell, my brother has sworn me that he would finally ship the items today!
I hope he does so!
My work here is done.
Teledork came through with this:

Awesome. I have been wanting to see this. Thank you so much.
You're more than welcome, man. Chalk this one up to me learning about it and having my interest piqued during the Horror Draft in October.
Vader hooked me up and got me.

And some delicious Pop Chips, thanks Vader.
Gifts Part I arrived today, and Diva got me the Cult Classic Film Series version of C.H.U.D. I've only ever seen it once, I was about ten years old when I did, and this was on my list of DVDs to pick up with holiday money. So, in conclusion, I love it!
Kimbell took excellent care of me:

Cut Copy's In Ghost Colours
John Ajvide Lindqvist's Let the Right One In
Martin McDonagh's The Beauty Queen of Leenane and Other Plays

Thanks again, sir!
My brother finally confirmed 2 things today.

1) He has sent Kimbell's gift already!
2) Will Kane's Gift arrived successfully!

So good news all around!
So after some weeks of confusion from a package I thought mysteriously came from someone else I realized I already had Mr. Cellophane's gift in my hands.

I love it.

This in shirt form:

And this print from last years I AM 8 Bit show:

I think they're both insanely awesome for two reasons.

1 - Brandon Bird has some of the coolest, funniest art I've seen.
2 - He mentioned Brandon Bird was one of his favorites. I was actually at the gallery opening when he debuted the painting of Harrison Ford and some others.

That's where the confusion began.

I've been to this gallery and buy many prints from them often so I wondered why the hell I got this since I hadn't bought anything recently so it did blow my mind a little that someone across the nation was also into the same stuff that I thought wasn't well known and it came to me from a place I'm very familiar with.

Much thanks Cell!
