Thanks for posting this link! I write for an ongoing web comic and appreciate any tips or tricks to the art. And from Mark Waid! That's pretty cool.
Thanks again!

I write comics, and a trick that works for me is if you're working a scene that is dialogue heavy, ask a few friends to come to your place and position them the way the characters would be in the panel and take a Polaroid. On the back of the Polaroid I write the dialogue that is meant for that "panel", and on a board I order them sequentially so the artist knows exactly what to do.
ETA: I can't draw at all, so it's the best way for me to convey what's going on in my head since I can't story board on my own with pencils.

Oh man, that's cool idea! I sometimes do something similar to that where if I'm having trouble describing how I want characters positioned or posed, I'll take some of the Marvel Legends figures I have and pose them in the way I see the scene, take a pic, and send it to my artist. It works really well, and the fact that the Marvel Legends figures are heavily articulated offers a wide range of possibilities for poses.
Thanks for the tip!
ETA: To comment on your ETA, I'm the exact same way - can't draw worth a damn, so sometimes I have to find other ways to get what I'm seeing across.

Anything to help a fellow comic writer. And it's relatively cost effective for me since all my buddies ask for in return is that I have pizza and beer at my place when they get here.
