Cc: Seagal The Tax Paying Vampire Slayer

This needs to be discussed: http://chud.com/articles/articles/17...YER/Page1.html

The cover image made me instantly think of the one for VAMPIRE WARS (AKA BLOODSUCKERS), a Sci-Fi Original.

This may be the 1st Seagal movie I watch in years. Hopefully the don't strip the vampire plot out like they did with the alien plot of one of his DTV efforts (ATTACK FORCE).

TO make up for that, a few months back he was quoted wanting to go against ET in UNDER SIEGE 3.

“In other words,” Seagal began, “I wouldn’t mind if it was about something more mystical or…maybe extraterrestrial in nature. Some real government top secrets instead of just the typical.”

Good of you to notice this...

I think it might be a good idea to start a kind of Against the Dark discussion thread though. (In fact, I will) Everyone from the B-Action thread will emigrate there for comments, I can assure you.

This really deserves a place all its own.

Against the Dark is not only exciting because it's possibly genre work for Seagal (a first!) but also because it reunites him with his buddy Keith David.

This too is cause for celebration.

Doesn't Seagal already do genre work? I thought martial arts films were a genre.

You're right of course... My mind was moving faster than my typing fingers. I meant to say "horror" or something.

Usually, though, when I think "genre" for some reason that's shorthand for "sci-fi/horror."

Hey guys... Seriously... Let's not leave my Against the Dark thread all by its lonesome up there in The Main Sewer.

I like the idea of The B-Action Thread infiltrating the upper crust. It's kind of like when Seagal and his commandos infiltrated Screwface's headquarters.

A feeling that I hope is duplicated in this film.

Wasn't SUBMERGED supposed to have some sci-fi or supernatural shit going on?

Yes Disciple... But is this going to become an AICN Talkback?

Most of us fans have accepted that he's let himself go and just roll with it. It gives him a special quality. He's the Elvis Presley of action heroes...

A friend of mine works in a Whole Foods in Santa Fe and met him recently while he was shooting a movie. Said he purchased some "very expensive cheese" and a bottle of imported French lemonade.

The man has taste!

(I asked him if he inadvertently stopped a hold-up, but this was not the case.)

Some of your titles are funny. And your avatar tells me you're a fan. So we're cool.

His first dramatic role...

House Arrest: The Walter Hudson Story.

On Lifetime at 9pm.

(I went off topic because I couldn't think of any clever vampire puns... But I can think of plenty of fat guy jokes)

TRAILER

If it can pull off being "BLADE meets the last 15 minutes of INTO THE SUN" then it could end up as a solid night's viewing.

The beginning actually reminded of a sequel to 28 WEEKS LATER.

That trailer is better than the 3rd act of Will Smith's I AM LEGEND.
