6 bucks on PSN right now. A fucking bargain. Buy it, you heathens!

A friend had this on PS1. Hope you like the Continue screen. You'll be seeing a lot of it.

Loving it. It's hardcore old-school Castlevania before they went the Metroid route. No more jumping on the stairs! Enemies that don't stop coming! Turkey hidden behind walls!

The PS1 game is rare and always was pretty expensive if you found a copy, so this is a treat.

Was this just released? I was on the PSN store 2 days ago but I didn't see this. I wasn't able to pick this up when it first came out so I'll give this a purchase. I hope next year we see the PS1 download library expanded. So many PS1 games that I can't find that I'll love to purchase.

Yep, late last night there was a huge update to the PSN store. Rayman 2 is the same price as well- another great choice.

There's also a Metal Gear Solid Online demo and the new Penny Arcade (which is decent), among some other stuff.

Intelligent Qube.

I remember that one. I never owned it but I would play the demo to death. I would also like to see some Dino Crisis on there as well as some good RPG's like Suikoden 2.

Confession: I have never completed a Castlevania game. Got close to it in the original, gave up on Super Castlevania, and lost interest in Symphony of the Night once I reached the upside down castle (if anyone can convince me to pick up that game after a year, feel free). And yet, I still downloaded this game. It's fun, but fuck is it frustrating. And why is Simon's hair pink?

Alex, you may want to check out the new DS Castlevania. Apparently it's supposed to be tough as nails and partially ditches the Metroidvania formula.

Yeah, I'm really behind on picking that one up. Don't get me wrong, I love the DS (and GBA) Castlevanias, but hell, I grew up on the old style. The SNES was one of my faves.

I'm not a fan of Chronicles--it's tedious and more frustrating than fun--but Rayman 2 is one of the best platformers ever made. That's a steal at six bucks.

Just downloaded Rayman 2 and realized I must have played either the N64 or the PS2 version, because this Playstation version is ugly as fuck. Still a fun game, though.

Four words: Giant. Rotting. Corpse. Boss.

Seconded. I'm about halfway through it, and it really is the perfect mix of old and new school Castlevania. Some love went into this one.

I don't think it was for PS2. It did come out for Dreamcast though, which is where it really shines. The N64 version was no slouch either. It made good use of the RAM pack.

Rayman 2: Revolutions was out for the PS2, it was a remake of Rayman 2 that came out for the PS1.
