Raw Foodists

Thread Starter
There seems to be something about eating nothing but raw fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds that makes someone insanely fanatical and gives them a huge superiority complex.

I have a friend who was relatively normal once, and now all she talks about ever is raw food and all the recipes she needs to share with me and why I shouldn't eat refined sugar or white flour or anything cooked over 180 degrees. It's getting supremely annoying.

Anyway, she just shared this video with me and it was so weird I had to share it. Is this a cult?

What in the hell was that? And raw foodists are fucking annoying.

Yeah, every time I think of the raw foodist movement I think of that couple whose infant died due to the diet. Then all sympathy goes out the window.

As much as I can't stand foodies, raw foodists drive me nuts with their claims that it some how cured every goddamn problem in existence.

Fucking weirdos.

I'll never understand why people fight every evolutionary advance that humankind has achieved.

Seriously. Raw food? We'd probably die out had it not been for fire and our ability to cook animals (tasty, tasty animals). Anyone want to join me at Fogo de Chao on La Cienega, and laugh at these idiots while we feast on meat?

ETA: Ed, Fogo is a great idea for a LA-area CHUD outing. I used to go for lunch all the time with my law school friends back in Chicago. Check it!

Ah yes Fogo De Chao. I went there during an employee appreciation dinner a while back. It was fantastic. Expensive but great. Far better than Lawry's.

Dude, it's half-priced for lunch!

That's what then? $30 $40? Not everyone here makes lawyer money*

*Which I assume mostly goes to student loans

$32. But that includes the salad bar, Ed!
Indeed. And it's a very good salad bar.
They like...fry their salad bar? Cuz that would be awesome, and very appropriate to the conversation.

What ever happened to just eating 'food'? Christ, I'm going to have an aneurysm thinking about all this 'nutrition' crap.
It was $28 in Chicago. LA is pricey!

You guys tried the salad bar? Don't tell me you're into that raw food crap.

When you're about to engage in limitless helpings of 13 cuts of charred meat, you have to lay down some ruffage as a base. Some leafy things. Plus the salad bar has shrimp and all kinds of cool cheeses. I skip all other meals on Fogo Day.

We should organize this. Seriously. I'll even buy a round of drinks!

How so? The perfect antidote to this raw food madness is celebrating the eating of animals.

To Fogo!
