The Maltese Falcon (1941)

Thanks to TCM I got to witness this film. Lived up to its reputation and became more. It's got one of the best scripts ever and is surprisingly well directed thanks considering it was Huston's first time. Plus, how can you not love Bogart in this with the way he delivers the lines.

Oh, and that scene where he uses Cario's hand to punch him in the face? Ownage. I have to go redo my top 10 now.

It is one the greatest film ever, and it was a really mean script for it time. Some of the things Bogart says in this movie. it is amazing they let them stay in the final film.

It's a great double feature with Casablanca, although that will ruin you for average movie dialogue for weeks afterward.

Watched this the other day. Bogart is so great at playing cunts who just happen to be our protagonists, I was sort of expecting a Casablanca like change of heart towards the end and probably had a huge dopey grin on my face when it didn't come.

And "when you get slapped, you'll take it and like it" everyone is his bitch in this movie, it's fantastic.

Still the most badass thing anyone said on a movie screen prior to the 60s.
