Scarborough: "You cannot blame what's going on in Israel on the Bush administration."

Brzezinski: "You know, you have such a stunningly superficial knowledge of what went on that it's almost embarrassing to listen to you."
The whole clip is at Crooks and Liars

This is a must-watch.

If only Brzezinski could get booked on every US "news" show.

Joe's problems are

1) He is totally biased and trying to force an answer he wants out of Dr Z

2) Joe has the same problem as most Media journalists; he is focused on Instant Analysis of what's just happened, ignoring the context

3) He is a condescending ass

4) When they started playing the "Superficial" I had a flashback to The Thing

LOL. I really liked his response about doing something to solve the problem rather than waiting and speculating on the outcome of the worst case scenario. This seems to have become the default approach during the Bush years - to fear-monger about something that might happen rather than using politics or science or whatever the appropriate strategy to make an honest and passionate effort to address the problem before it melts down.

I liked how he desperately started ticking off the names of the newspapers he's reading, as if it validates him and his knowledge on foreign affairs.

Poor Mika. She looked like she wanted to disappear under the news desk.

I've watched this 3 times now. ;-)

People with actual historical facts and the ability to analyse them in the context of history and modern issues simply have no business being anywhere near the modern American corporate news media in this day and age.

Only soundbites and agendas need apply.

It's simultaniously fun to watch and fucking sad

"Morning" Joe and Mika are coming to my town on Monday to offer up obnoxious blather about the election, along with Joe's stunning insights into politics (gleaned from his short time in congress as part of the 1994 Republican wave more than 15 years ago)

Should I go? Right now, I'm thinkin'... No.

Yeah ask Mika what its like to have a globalist, elitist titan as a father and her thoughts on his involvement in purging the Russians from Afganistan. Just wikipedia it.

Oooh it would almost be worth it to go just for that. My Dad ended up getting tickets, but I thought it over and refused to attend so he and my mom will be going instead. I've met Joe Scarborough once already (in 2004) and he is sort of a smarmy jerk. I'll see if I can get my mom to ask but don't hold your breath

You definitely should attend and speak to him. A few well-placed words from you always seems to cause TV show hosts to completely rethink their careers.

This clip perfectly illuminates the problem with the US media today. Brzezinski is right in saying Scarborough is superficial (although he may be doing disservice to the word), but it's not like Clinton ("I am the most pro-Israeli president since Truman") was the Great Negotiator.

The problem wasn't Sharon putting an end to Arafat's discussions with the Arab states. Arafat wasn't in a POSITION to discuss anything because he no longer had a mandate from the Palestinian people.

He was an ailing man who wanted one last stab at being the hero. He did it by going back on practically everything he'd fought for and agreeing to a peace proposal that the Palestinians found wholly unacceptable (and for good reason).

A classic case of framing the debate. Brzezinski pitches himself here as the Rational Voice when in fact the choice is only between Bad and Worse.

My dad is going to the event, and an MSNBC TV crew will be there. They'll be showing clips on MORNIN' JOE tomorrow morning. My dad will be attending but I will not be. If my dad asks a question and it shows up on TV, I'll let you guys know
