Eva Cassidy

My wife discovered her and introduced her to me recently. Haven't listened to much yet, but her rendition of "Autumn Leaves" is heart-wrenching. All the sadder when I learned Eva Cassidy died from melanoma a couple years back ('06).

Anyone else exposed to her stuff? Any recommendations?

2005, Amazon.com released a list of its top 25 best-selling musicians, which placed Cassidy in 5th position, behind The Beatles, U2, Norah Jones and Diana Krall, and far ahead of Elvis Presley and several other well-known stars.

***EDIT: Apologies, as there was already a thread or 2. Oops. Nothing to see here.***

Actually she died in 1996 at age 33.

All of her albums have some truly amazing, soulful covers on them, but her CD titled "Live at Blues Alley" has a good selection of material and her duet album with jazz musician Chuck Brown titled "The Other Side" is also worth checking out.

Man, I really f**ked up this thread, didn't I? Thanks for the link. Her "Autumn Leaves" track is from that performance. Cool.

I turn 33 this week. That's rough.
