Is InTheShadows there too?
Glorious.
I'm guessing 80% of the usernames in that thread belong fabfunk.
I've never seen anybody write an FAQ about themselves, until now;

Q: Why was I banned from the CHUD forums?
A: A similar sort of disappointment in the posters there. In the sex discussions, I mentioned something about a famous pornstar dying and was greeted with cries of "necrophiliac". This corpse-****ing thing was such a hearty running gag amongst the lesser in what was a pretty solid community that I inclined to laugh along with it, even if some weren't as good-humored as myself. This got to the head of the site Devin (the bearded man with the Batman shirt in that unfortunate picture of me at Coney Island), and when I tried to set-up, or at least propose, a site-wide event similar to the Butt-Numb-A-Thon, he quietly said to others that if I was involved in arranging that, he would leave the site. Figuring that his influence on the message board was going to lead a revolt against me, I changed to a different screen name, since each of the very solid film discussions I was experiencing at those boards would ocassionally be derailed by someone making a corpse-****ing joke. Unfortunately, it is against those MB rules that you can have two screen names at one IP, and when "The Road" review revealed who I was, I was banned.

Q: What about Devin's sister?
A: I friended everyone on the facebook group for CHUD, including a girl that appeared to be Devin's sister. Obviously craving the attention, he started a thread saying I should stay away from this girl I didn't even remember instead of PMing me. Obviously that went over well.

Q: Have I known Rudy Giuliani?
A: We met face to face several times and were on a first-name basis when he was Mayor of New York and good friends with my father. Not an association I am proud of.

Q: Did I KILL "The Road"?
A: I posted the first negative review on that film the evening after a screening and the night before a massive in-house meeting at the Weinstein Company regarding the film's fate. Seeing as how even later impressions linked to my initial views, someone at the company read my review and said something. Was that as effective as the test scores turned in by the audience that night that postponed the film not to next winter but instead to a thankless spring slot? Of course not. You title the thread like that to get attention, seeing as how many of my admittedly long-winded dissertations on film get ignored by the majority of GD'ers seeking to read one line about some random person's favorite Michael Bay movie. I brought discussion of pornography into a thread I wrote about "Slumdog Millionaire" to elict the same response.
He's Ego is great.
Just so this thread serves SOME legit purpose (and before it gets to 3 pages), I know people working on The Road, and from everything I've heard from them and elsewhere, the film was headed down its current path way before Fabfunk posted a fucking blog about it.

Y'know, just in case any of you were wondering.
Goddamn, the number of lies and the abundance of ego in those Q&A posts. He's the SilverShadow of corpse fuckers.
I wouldn't be surprised to hear that this motherfucker gets made fun of at family reunions when he's not busy being auto-erotically asphyxiated by his older cousins.
You can't be auto-erotically asphyxiated by someone else. Then it's just asphyxia. But I see your point.

Oops, yeah.
What if the cousin's head isn't really in the game?
Winner.

His trick (condition) was getting old.
Devin, don't you ever get sick of posting about the same old Chewers over and over? What's the point? I don't get it.

Don't you get sick of never posting about movies?
Still, why not post in the last thread created for him, the one where you announced his banning? Why is this fucker's getting another thread? Not that I don't appreciate seeing others laughing at the idiot, but why not make this THE Fabfunk thread, and leave it at that?
Keeping it to one thread is only useful if you're complaining about the unwritten rules of the board.

You notice how I don't post in a vast majority of threads here? Take my lead and simply don't post in threads you don't like. I'm sorry if this thread is costing you money, a headache or life problems.

Said the man who doesn't review them.

I'm sure I'll catch hell for my movie to non-movie post ratio as well, but I just was curious, Triumphant at what? Spreading his creepiness to other websites? Or am I missing something in that RT thread?

Why do you even post here?

It's his username at RT.
Guys, stop fighting! Now let's just test everyone's blood to see who's the real deal here and who's Fabfunk.

Because of the Cobrettis and DaveBs and Jonathan Banks of the boards. I have the privilege of engaging in great movie discussion with them on a regular basis.

As for why I'm here in the first place, this is a great place to talk about a number of topics. Moreover, I greatly respect your opinion when you're not trolling your own place of work. You're the equivalent of a GAP employee who stands outside the store and tells the customers how ugly they are. It kind of sucks, but if it weren't for you, and I mean you specifically for the most part, I wouldn't have sought out any number of great films over the last few years.

You don't engage with them in movie discussion ever.

My god to think that this person is actually running around in the world right now, taking creepy pictures with uncomfortable looking people.

Hey, LD -

What did you think of Slumdog Millionaire?
He told me he liked it, but not as much as 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS.

Loved it. I remember when you mentioned that the elements of magical realism at play in the film justified the somewhat cliche third act, and that's hard to argue. I still think the film lost some goodwill with the scene where Jamal snuck into the crimelord's house, and I'm not sure it ever regained plausibility. That being said, it was an excellent film and the ending felt deserved, if a bit too "Hollywood". "Latika's Theme" plays no small part in that, I'm sure. It's a gorgeous piece of music.

You know, I wonder what Alex Billington thought of 2 Fast 2 Furious. I bet we could get an article about that on the front page.

Discussion for that movie would belong in this thread, yes?

THIS IS A THREAD ABOUT MAKING FUN OF FABFUNK.
No more derailments!
Speaking of Slumdog Millionaire, Fabfunk's thread over at RT with a lengthy treatise as to why Punisher: War Zone is the better film is certainly ... interesting.

I'm completely with you, LD, esp. wrt to the magical realist elements (reminded me of Marquez or Rushdie), but I don't see why you had a problem with the scene in the crimelord's house. Was the coincidence just too much for you?
The problem with this derailment is it just proves how lame people are. Not making-a-Q&A-about-yourself-lame, but still.
Is it because there's more T and A? It's because there's more T and A.
I'm at sea here. I haven't seen Slumdog yet, but I REALLY want to.

Yeah, the "I'm proud I never talk about movies" contingent should be less proud.

It's like the kid who is told they should quiet down and then gets louder. I guess you've made your point, but...

It felt coincidental and "slapstick". Jamal could have found Latika through Samir without torturing the narrative. The movie had a deft touch with humor through most of its running time - that scene was no more over-the-top than the autograph - but, that bit fell flat for me.
Are you assholes really going to spoil Slumdog Millionaire for me?

Isn't it more like the kid who's told he should quiet down, but gets even quieter?
Stop talking about Slumdog Millionaire to try and make some sort of spiteful point, you look like a moron.
Being relatively new here, I think I speak for many in this forum when I say...who the fuck is Fabfunk?

He's Kabong.
