Nip/Tuck Season 5-1/2 or 6? - Page 3

Needs more time travel accidental incest plotlines, imo.
"You cooked this shit for nothing."

I knew the season couldn't end without a gratuitous glimpse of Wilbur.
But at least we now know that Wilbur is alive and well.

And Matt continues to be just one giant prick. No heads up to Sean and Christian that maybe, just maybe, they're about to put an innocent man to death. I'd like to see Matt suffer some serious accident before the show ends.

Looks like the final season is coming up in a few weeks. At least F/X didn't wait to premeire them next Fall.

Actually, I thought that was the most selfless thing he's ever done. All telling them would accomplish is to make them share his guilt. There was nothing any of them could do about it. Him taking that weight squarely on his own shoulders is the first time I've liked him even a little bit since about season one or two.

The flashback to College Christian and Sean was terrible. I was hoping for the same 40 something actors in bad wigs they used in the previous seasons flashbacks.
I thought the younger actors they used were pretty good for looking like their future counterparts... but I would have loved to see the old actors in bad wigs again!

Anyway, this show is off the rails and flying high. So, in the time between last episode and this one, Kimber and Christian are married, Christian's managed to knock up some new chick who's doing the remodeling of the office (and we'll probably never hear from her again now) and the guys are apparently somewhat over their financial trouble? How did that happen?

Oh, and I love the quickness with which Christian had the 2 girls, the bong, and was half way through a game of strip poker while Sean was in the shower! The guy really does have super panty dropping powers.

*edit*

Oh, one more thing that made me laugh was the ridiculous mile high club scene, I love how the sky marshall was ready to fuck Sean up but there were no consequences to the chick that he was in there with.

Damn, was hoping slob-Christian would stick around for a few weeks.

Maybe we'll get an anorexic Christian next.
We still haven't gotten "wants to be a woman" Christian yet, either.
What's Wilbur gonna think of his dad?
Man, I coulda watched that homicidal chimpanzee getting hit with a frying pan forever.

It seems I really need to catch up on this season.
You do. You really, really do.

"You have to choose... ME OR THE MONKEY!"
Just what this show needed before ending its run, a Holocaust flashback.
Was tonight the final episode?
No, next week is the finale. Or as the promo described it, "The final episode of television's most provocative series."

No argument here.
Matt = biggest fuckup of all time and it's hilarious how you can see his fuckups coming a mile away.

I'll be kind of glad that the show is over after next week... it's limp to the finish line has had a couple entertaining moments, but for the most part it's been a chore for me to watch.

It still makes me laugh how Sean and Christian want Julia so bad when to me she's one of the least attractive chicks (both looks and personality) that's been on the show.

I completely agree with all your points.

Moreover, I think that this final season has really spoken volumnes as to how the show has lost its luster and especially its sense of direction. The last few episodes have alluded to the fact that Sean and Christian can't really make people happen and they themselves are in fact, can never be happy either.

Their relationship seems to be one that they can never undo. I honestly don't see how they can this show without at least one of them dying. Otherwise I can't buy that they don't end up together for life.

Just started watching the latest season. And hey, so far Christian has made a plaster cast of his penis, and has Matt robbed a coffee shop using only his skills as a mime. The funniest show on TV just keeps on nipping and tucking.

Just wait for the auto-erotic asphyxiation episode.
It's so odd to be watching a show that 2.5 seasons in you'd have argued was one of the best things on TV... and now you're grateful it's ending so you don't have to watch it any more...
To me the show took its biggest dip in quality when it moved to LA. Once they did that, it never reached the heights of what it once was. I liked the ridiculous Hearts and Scalpels show within the show, but there were so many stupid things they did that went far beyond the ridiculous stuff they did in the earlier seasons. The ones that stand out for me:

Plotline with super buildup and then completely dropped and never given a satisfying resolution: The whole mercury poisoning of Julia by her lesbian lover's daughter Eden.

Recasting Sean's lover played by Katee Sackhoff with Rose McGowan... WTF!? Oh, and they totally changed her character too! Why not, I dunno, just make a completely different character up? That whole plotline was beyond stupid.

Disappearing and reappearing children for the sake of plot convenience. Now that I look back I wonder if we were seeing two different realities. One in which the kids exist, and one that they do not. Or, when off screen they are kept in a pocket universe/dimension.
To me one of the biggest mistakes the show made was bringing back characters that weren't neccesary and, conversly, not getting rid of characters when they should have. Case in point, Matt. I mean this guy was a pathetic excuse for a son, that basically did every abnormal thing short of claiming to be abducted by aliens. Why two successful plastic surgeons like Sean and Christian didn't jettison this freak is anyone's guess.

Kimber is another example as is Julia. The show would have worked with just Sean and Christian bringing in these other characters was just subterfuge.

As far as plotlines go, gobblox mentioned some good ones, but there are just waaaaaaaaaaay too many obsurd storylines in mention in just one post.

Bottomline: I can't imagine you'd find many people that were saddened to see Nip/Tuck come to an end.
You guys are being way too rough on the show. I used to have some of the complaints you all did, but then I wised up and learned to embrace the mashugana splendor of it all.

I'm sad to see the journey end. Farewell Wilbur, I shan't forget you.

Nor shall I forget Wilbur.
I was pleased to see him during the last family meal, but the amount of overall screen time for Scarbaby versus time for Wilbur was deplorable. Fuck Raphael.
That last scene with Matt and Ava was all kinds of fucked up.

It took him six seasons, but Christian finally did something unselfish.
I guess it was an OK finale for the show, though I was hoping for something a lot more fucked up to happen other than Matt running off with a transsexual and an old Japanese man dying while making a porno. Oh well.

Bring on Justified.
...and the show fades away with a whimper. I was kind of pissed at Sean and Christian's little party with the japanese porn stars... if you're doing coke and you've got hot ass women involved, you HAVE to snort it off their asses and/or tits. That's a Man Law.

Matt the perpetual fuckup goes out as the most pathetic punkass bitch of a man I've ever seen on a show. What a piece of shit... truely pathetic. Hope he enjoys his unrequited relationship, hopefully his daughter doesn't end up as fucked up as him.

I did like Christian finally doing something unselfish and cutting ties with Sean though, but we've seen them split up a couple times now haven't we?

LOL @ Raphael barely having any scars at the end there. That's that good old mutant healing factor of the Nip/Tuck universe.

Goodbye Nip/Tuck.

Hope Justified is good!
I will report back after seeing the finale, but wasn't a lame end assured with what's his name abandoning the show for Glee?
The finale was really disappointing. It didn't capture any of the show's insanity that made it so good. While I dug how Christian broke up the practice and the last few scenes with him and Sean and him at the bar overall the show was pretty bad. Matt still looks like Michael Jackson's bastard son and the character is so pathetic it's painful to watch. This show jumped the shark a few seasons ago, I'm glad they finally killed it.

And yes, bring on Justified. Olyphant and Goggins (playing crazy redneck nazi to a T) to the rescue for FX!

The return of Cletus Van Damme looks like it's going to be glorious.

The daughter is screwed and I'm gonna tell you why: she is the only thing holding this "family" together. Once she gets old enough to understand what the hell is going on, she's going to under some serious pressure to keep them together. Note that the only reason Ava takes to her is because she's pretty. Once the awkward phase hits and the zits come roaring onto her face, is Mommy out the door? Most likely. You think most teenage girls are under pressure to look a certain way? They won't be able to hold a candle to the stress this kid is going to endure. Her fucking home life is utterly dependant upon her LOOKS.
Why didn't Christian or Sean tell Matt the truth about Ava? I understand wanting to protect him when he was a young screw-up, but now that he's an older screw-up there should have been no excuse not to let him in on the joke.

Or did Matt already know and that slipped my mind?

Damn, you're right. I didn't even think of that.

Nah Matt was told that Ava was born a man. Remember his fascination with trannies in the beginning of... season 3 I believe? He thinks they'll all be post-op and hot like Ava, and ends up almost getting down with a pre-op ("you got a goddam dick!") who I think he assaults. Then, because of this he gets attacked by a gang of trannies who beat the living shit out of him,and then piss all over him.

Those were the good old days.
Now that it's over, the question is: Has any show ever gone from so good to SO bad over the course of its run?

The X-Files springs to mind, but I think season 1 & 2 of Nip/Tuck were much better than The X-Files ever was. I'd be hard pressed to pick which fell further though... at least Nip/Tuck didn't have Sean replaced by Robocop and have Sean and Christian sleep together at the end...

Be safe, Wilbur.

This was the storyline that hooked me into Nip/Tuck. Reading the paragraph you just typed made me laugh more than an entire season of Glee.

Sean and Christian slept together in Season 2. At least, they had a sensuous three-way with another woman, but it was all about them. You could just tell. I think it was the episode with those gross conjoined twins who were once on Jerry Springer.

In a twisted sub-plot, one of the twins was attracted to Christian.
Didn't he fuck them by making them put a bag on their head? And whatever happened to midget Hugo Drax who Julia was having an affair with?

I'm sorry to see one of the most hilariously fucked up shows ever end.

edit: Here's some of the tranny scenes to clear up the confusion. I never noticed how much the tranny looks like Martha Plimpton

Even though his future could be hopeless, I hate that Matt got what he wanted. Where's the Carver when you need him? That would have been the greatest cameo ever.

Oh yeah! Damn that seems like a lifetime ago. What a great show.
As I expected the season finale was much like the last couple of seasons: rather dull and a struggle to get through. I was hoping for a Matt suicide after Ava dumped him and his Mexican sweetie he left at the alter wouldn't take him back.

I don't buy that Sean will be able to stay away from Christian and the lure of La La Land, he'll def. be back. The last scene with Christian at the bar was a nice touch to indicate that he'll never change.

And didn't Ava tell them she got little Raphel from South America yet Christian bought Sean a ticket to Bucharest and told him to take. "take him back". He's taking him to the wrong continent, I think. Talk about the writer's not giving a shit.
