Not much surprises me these days, but I was amazed at how close they get to the edge. I imagine that's one of the biggest adrenaline rushes you can get, zooming along the edges of the mountain like that.

I'd also be interested if there is footage somewhere of someone getting too close trying to pull that off...

Things to do before I die list just got one item longer. Seriously, if I get cancer, and I need to do a Bucket List, I want to know what it's like to be Superman, and THESE guys know.

That looks great. Sadly the closest I'll ever get to something like that will be the couple of lame 100 ft bungie jumps I did a few years ago.

Sheesh, talk about a boring life.

Stealing Altitude is a documentary about base jumping -- there's a link to some pretty wicked youtube footage on the website.

I don't mean to sound jaded. The build-up to the jumps was nice but the jump itself was very anticlimactic. They seem to have cured me of my mild vertigo though.
