Great Videogame Moments/scenes of 2008 (Spoilers, i guess)

Given the amount of great games we got this past year, how about given them the same treatment as movies and compile a list of our favorites gaming moments from last year? Be it a plot twist, a particularly funny scene or a a great online moment, lets share some gaming moments here!
I'll try and kick thing up with five picks of my own, in no particular order:
-Finding out the killer's identity, "Persona 4" (PS2) was a great moment, specially because of how the characters (and the plot) actually worked it out along with the player.
-Horde Mode, "Gears of War 2" (360) has given me some memorable moments of great teamwork and brutal violence....seeing a locust about to ambush me from behind get head sniped from across the map by a budy was glorious.
-Zero Gravity/Vacuum moments, "Dead Space" (360)...easily one of the finest and most well played uses of atmosphere and sound in gaming this year.
-Aerial Combat, "Spiderman: Web of Shadows" (360)....game might not be perfect, but finally the feeling of fighting as Spiderman in midair gets translated to gaming in pure perection.
-Fallout 3 (360) At 9 PM, game was placed into console for the first time...6 AM, i realize ive been playing for THAT much time yet never even realized it.
Honorable Mention for an older game: Beating the crap out of a Luchador Gorilla, "God Hand" (PS2).
Honarable mention for game i found on a bin: Blowing the crap out of giant ants and saucers, "Earth Defense Force 2017" (360).
Funniest online moment of the year: That match with several chewers and a few dozen others on the smallest COD4 map available...life expectancy after respawn on that one was 2.1 seconds flat.

WOW-The Death Knight starting quests. The end of the Wrathgate questline. I crave Blizzard's next single player game. If they can get this stuff in an MMORPG imagine what they could do with a story driven game.

CRYSIS:WARHEAD-The battle around the downed VTOL. Nice unrestricted terrain with adequate cover combined with the fact that by then I was completely comfortable with my suit's powers equals the most satisfying shoot-out I can remember.

FALLOUT 3-The best character creation and tutorial ever. The time I tried to play through as a bad guy, stumbled on what appeared to be a child prostitution operation in the slaver town and proceeding to flip out and kill everyone in town with my recently disovered Alien Blaster.

Seeing how the Bloody Mess Perk worked in Fallout 3 and then cackling for about 5 minutes after.

The feel of the rooftop running and jumping in Mirror's Edge. The game had a shitton of problems, but this wasn't one of them and that never got old.

The cutscene of Nico meeting Badman with Little Jacob. Honestly, a lot of that game was memorable to me, as I enjoyed Nico as a character and thought Liberty City was a fantastically designed game world that felt real, not generic *cough*Saint's Row 2*cough*.

Gears 2 brief spoiler. While I will remember cursing a storm at the STILL fucking broken checkpoint/instant kill/revival that they didn't fix from the first, right before the razorhail section. Where the monsters start jumping out of tubes. And are close combat creatures. And me and my buddy still have chainsaw guns. All we did was walk through that joint, cutting shit in pieces. We didn't get hit once and giggled like school girls the entire time.

MGS4 spoiler. Look, I don't think the game is great. The story is ass. You don't need to tie up every fucking thing, ok? But the scene of Snake walking through the microwaves killing him was damn damn fine. It was one of the few scenes in the game that felt real and not Kojima Bullshit.

Burnout Paradise. All of it. Ok, fine. Racing through the streets while chatting with friends. The city is amazing and having all of it as a playground is a blast.

Prince of Persia. The Prince and Elika's interactions. They were fun and flirty and they both always seemed to be on equal footing whenever they were verbally sparring. It was surprisingly modern a lot of times which, also surprisingly, didn't feel out of place at all.

The Who pack for Rock Band. And Love Spreads.

I can't remember who it was from here, but someone from the boards played Burnout Paradise with me for about five hours the weekend it came out, and we had this chase going on. We were racing down an incredibly narrow trench, barely enough room for the two of us, with palletes and junk in the way. We had FULL boost and we were going full speed, and it was AWESOME.

The adrenaline and the bursts of INSANE shit in that game are amazing.

finishing Etrian's Odyssey II was a highlight and an achievement.

GTA IV--Kate's death. Still a testament to how well the characters in that game are developed that this affected me as much as it did.

Ninja Gaiden II--The first a time a guy you've dismembered down to his last arm crawls over, grabs your leg, and sets off a bomb. So very fucking awesome.

Fawkes waiting for you after you escape the Enclave compound.

Playing bass on any given Duran Duran song in RB2.

"Burn the Witch" in Left 4 Dead.

Using a Rocket Artillery Strike on the Oil Refinery in Mercs 2.
Attaching an Artillery Strike beacon to the back of a motorbike and driving across a bridge, also Mercs 2.

Team Mafia Work in GTA IV. Especially chasing after an Armoured Car until it misses a corner and slides into a petrol station, killing everyone near it.

All of Left 4 Dead and Saints Row 2.

In addition to the wonderful Left for Dead - I loved that we got two great zombie modes in games this year - Call of Duty: World at War, and Saints Row 2.

OP mentioned this and I agree: Spider-Man: Web of Shadows was flawed, but they nailed Spidey's movement and combat. Impossible to play without grinning.
