I've been following this with inconsistent interest. Sometimes it looks great, then rumors say it's in bad shape. The last few videos released look really good though, so here's hoping for a nice 2009 release.

It's going to depend a lot on how flexible Prototype is with the superpowers and shapeshifting. A non-linear game where you can shapeshift into anyone and solve problems in different ways based on a wide set of skills would be great, but if they mandate the skills during missions - e.g. "the only way to solve this problem is to use powers x, y, and z, in that order" - it will be disastrous.

The "leaked" videos looked good, but I haven't heard much else prior to that. What negative news did you hear, BillyG?

I just remember a few months back when Sierra was being dismantled that there were rumors that the budget had been cut, and the build at the time was really bad. I think this was a month or two before those "leaked" videos came out everywhere. I think the leaked videos were probably put out there just to calm the waters and show they have a promising title. It really does seem to be on track now, I just hope it's not buggy. That can sink an open world title quick, at least for me.

This is made by the developers who made Hulk: Ultimate Destruction, the best superhero game ever. Of course it's going to be awesome.
