Pineapple Express (2 disc) issues?

So I picked up the 2 disc unrated version which purports to have BOTH the theatrical AND unrated versions of the film. All I see is the theatrical version along with separate deleted/extended scenes. Insight anyone? Is this just a massive fuck up or am I overlooking something?

Yeah, we watched this the other night, and it started right into the movie...didn't give me a choice of which version to watch.

On my DVD, it had the option of "Theatrical Version" or "Extended Version." The wife and I selected the "Extended Version" to watch the other night, and it played the theatrical cut. I'm confused as well.

I was saying last night that the Extended cut didn't seem all that different. Is there something wrong with the Blu-Ray?

Mine doesn't even have an option to choose. Where did you see that, Mangy? Did you get the single-disc or the double?

The extended version is literally five seconds longer. Ted's son is added as a joke on the phone, and they say a little bit more in the diner scene. Plus an extra scene with the girlfriend and her parents at the hotel. That's it.

Hah! That's right. Now I feel dumb.

Wait, on my bluray it says the extended version is 5 mins longer.

The Ted's son bit and the extended scene at the diner is probably about 4:30 of those five minutes.

The disc I had worked fine and since it was the first time I saw the movie I now know what was added thanks to this thread.

Question, though, if I watch the theatrical release does it get funnier?

I got the 2-disc.

So, I watched the Extended cut, the additions just didn't make an impression. Too bad. Looking forward to perusing the behind-the-scenes footage this weekend.

I can't really say too much, since I didn't share this site's love for Foot Fist Way, but that's just crazy talk.

The option for "Theatrical" and "Extended" are not on the main screen...you have to click "Play Movie" on the main screen or whatever it says, and then it gives you the choice. You may already know that and have bigger problems, but it confused me at first so I'm just throwing that out there.

It's five minutes longer. There's also some extra banter before Red uses the "telefono" at his house, and a bit with Red crying while the hitmen listen in on his conversation with Saul in the forest, and a bit where Matheson puts his gun away because he "kills his motherfuckers with his bare hands".
When you click "Play Movie", it should take you to a submenu that asks which version you want. Maybe you got a Theatrical version disc instead of your rightful Unrated Disc 1. What's the picture on the label of the disc itself? The Unrated disc art has a picture of Saul with his thumb-dick.
