Batman: The Brave And The Bold - Page 2

It's long overdue for the Metal Men to appear in animation. (Which is surprising considering funny, quirky, shapechanging robots just screams for an animated series.) Brave and the Bold seems like a natural place.

It's also amusing to see how many fanboys have a stick up their butt about this series.
They waited a long time for their dark and gritty "serious" Batman. It must be killing them to see this happen. Hopefully some of them will be so distraught that they'll kill themselves.

Thankfully I've avoided reading these comments.
No one should be listening to these sad, pathetic fanboys who get pissy whenever someone tries to make superheroes kid friendly and fun.

Who's complain about this series?

Batman hasn't been this fun in a very long time.

I kind of liked what a jerk Robin was in that last episode. He blinds Crazy Quilt and he just keeps laughing, what an ass!

It is just a delightful little show.

It's okay Greg they still have their bedroom mirrors...

I don't get it tho, hasn't 'dark and gritty' been kinda the default setting on Bats for the last 20 years now anyway?
Pretty much. But the hardcore fans hate any attempt to bring an element of fun to the character. They see it as some kind of grand betrayal of the noble ideas that Bob Kane ripped off from other people without credit.

It looks like the next episode addresses this issue!
THAT'S NOT MY BATMAN!

Man, that is just too great.

Also like how they parody the different Batmans, including the Clooney Batman & Robin one with the super Bat-nipples!

Paul Dini knocked it out of the park with that episode. I'd mention a favorite gag or moment, but the whole thing was fantastic.

My favorite part was when Batman takes a seat on a colorful mushroom, crosses his legs and refuses to fight.

And here are a bunch of high res pics from the episode (batfanboys included):

Next week Jonah Hex.

I've been waiting for Hex to get a full episode since that BAT HOMBRE intro. Mongul's the villian. Maybe he'll shoot him in the face or something.

Timm's cameo was awesome. that's the most meta thing I've ever seen on television.

And the Chunky Harley Quinn was Paul Dini.
Ha Ha, of course it was! I was just watching the Superman series commentaries so Timm's voice was in my mind, and that 'meh' couldn't be mistaken for any other voice.

Spunky Young Scrapper Kamandi gets his own episode this week!

Here is a cool interview with John DiMaggio, the voice of Aquaman, about working on Brave & Bold.

Tiny, crush them!

I was happy TINY made it in. It's too bad he didn't talk. They did a good job working as many weird Kamandi-Universe creatures in to the show as they could.

New episodes have been delayed in the US for some reason, but aired in other countries.
Someone has two of them up on Youtube. One features Omac!
The guy who voices Buddy/Omac does a great job.

"Brutha eye....Ah need a little more JUICE IN MAH JUMP."

Get in there before the Musical episode airs and the thread explodes!
Andy Strumer, formerly the lead singer of the terrific band "Jellyfish" composed the title music for this show. If he's involved in crafting the musical episode (1) it will be all kinds of ungodly awesome and (2) my head may explode along with the thread.

Whats with the long delay in episodes? Are we still in season 1 or 1.5?

I think we're still in season 1.
And I don't know why the last four episodes have been delayed in the US.

The Music Meister episode is up on YouTube.

"Drives Us Bats" and "Death Trap" are the stand out numbers for me.

Wow.
MUSIC MEISTER was pretty amazing. My favorite song was "Drives us Bats".
And oh god the fighting moves.

I'm watching it right now and I'm in love. This show is my new litmus test for close personal friends.

I hope there's going to be a proper DVD season set. Since I dropped cable, I haven't been able to catch it.

Holy shit! Batman just turned into a huge freaking kung-fu bat!

Can't get this show in The Netherlands, so recently I've been downloading it (yeah yeah...) to watch on lazy sunday mornings. Good stuff. Loving it.

A super-conga line?

Isn't this show a sign of the Apocalpypse? I love it so....

Just a reminder that season two started up this month and B&B is just as strong as ever. The Plastic Man vs. Kite Man episode was quite funny. The show gets bonus points in my book for getting Jeffrey Combs to do the voice Kite Man.

The standout episode so far has been the PLASTIC MAN one. You get a hint of Kite-man's origin and some Batman commentary.

"The resulting lightning strike caused a psychological trauma that forced you into a life of Kite-centric crime."

The DEATH RACE episode was also good.
The episode with yet another Blue Beetle teamup didn't do much for me. They're killing me with the intros. They'll do intros with characters they haven't used before (Captain Marvel, Challengers of the Unknown) and then do a full episode with characters Batman has already teamed up with (Plastic Man, Blue Beetle, Green Lantern Corps).

I finally got around to this ep and....my god, it was glorious.
I want more variety in the team ups as well. How about Swamp Thing? And where's Wonder Woman and Superman? But that's just puny nitpicking. I love the show.

I would love it if they snuck the Music Miester into the next Arkham Asylum game. Doubly so if Neil Patrick Harris voiced him again.

Well I hope that episode wins some kind of award.
Every song sounds good and they all have great lyrics.

Finally watched that Music Meister episode with one of my kids and we both loved it. This show is pretty amazing, the only thing that would make it a tad better would be to see Superman and Batman team up. I'm curious what their depiction of Superman would be in this show.
It would be hard for them to equal or top either Aquaman or Plastic Man.

Aquaman is really great in this show. I loved the episode where he and The Atom have an adventure inside Batman. Wait, that makes it sound kinda eh... You know what I mean damnit!
The Aquaman family vacation episode was pretty great. Aquaman allowing Blue Beetle to title their adventure before declaring "That's right, Plague fo the Planet Master!" was hilarious.

You know i never did like Aquaman tell this show, but he maybe the best part of this show.
I'm secretly hoping that they do a spin off from B&B involving either Plastic Man or Aquaman. They are pretty much the best guest characters to appear on the show.

And Stephen Root did an admirable job as the Penguin. I had no idea it was him until I read the end credits.
Enemy Ace made a special guest star appearance. How cool is that?

@JPL, i hate plasticman on this show.

aquaman however is brilliant
