Thanks for that, a good read.

43. You

Charges: You think it’s your patriotic duty to spend money you don’t have on crap you don’t need. You think Hillary lost because of sexism, when it’s actually because she’s just a bad liar. You think Iraq is better off now than before we invaded, and don’t understand why they’re so ungrateful. You think Tim Russert was a great journalist. You’re hopping mad about an auto industry bailout that cost a squirt of piss compared to a Wall Street heist of galactic dimensions, due to a housing crash you somehow have blamed on minorities. It took you six years to figure out what a tool Bush is, but you think Obama will make it all better. You deem it hunky dory that we conduct national policy debates via 8-second clips from “The View.” You think God zapped humans into existence a few thousand years ago, although your appendix and wisdom teeth disagree. You like watching vicious assholes insult each other on TV. You support gun rights, because firing one gives you a chubby. You cuddle falsehoods and resent enlightenment. You think the fact that 43% of whites could stomach voting for an incredibly charismatic and eloquent light-skinned black guy who was raised by white people means racism is over. You think progressive taxation is socialism. 1 in 100 of you are in jail, and you think it should be more. You are shallow, inconsiderate, afraid, brand-conscious, sedentary, and totally self-obsessed. You are American.

Exhibit A: You’re more upset by Miley Cyrus’s glamour shots than the fact that you are a grown adult who is upset about Miley Cyrus.

Sentence: Invaded and occupied by Canada; all military units busy overseas without enough fuel to get back.
I would have put those turds a little higher on the list.

eta: Oh and I'll second the hate for that FreeCreditReport.Com bastard. He needs to fall out a window, posthaste.

Man, that was fucking merciless! Great stuff!

I particularly liked that comment that Frank Caliendo is "the least amusing thing to appear on television since the morning of September 11, 2001."

Every single picture in that article is avatar-worthy. Great read.

Reminiscent of You Are Dumb, though this might be a little bit better. Thanks for the link.

These guys sure are angry. I love it.

And what's also funny, is a lot of these quotes from the "exhibits" were on a lot of the quote-of-the-year shortlists, and a few I already wanted to use for my list in a student newspaper.

Quote:
3. Sean Hannity

Exhibit A: "I never questioned anyone's patriotism."

Sentence: Wrongfully convicted of murdering Vince Foster, based on evidence falsified by Jerome Corsi.
Holy shit!

Gloriously well-written stuff. The top ten made me weep. And sadly, I have to agree that Bush was not the worst. What a year.

No Dick Morris?

That list made me angry yet amused at the same time.

I tell my conservative friends that I don't talk politics with them anymore because "your retards have defeated me, I don't give a shit."

Those guys deserve a medal for that great piece.

IMO the list is invalidated by including Obama. There were thousands of political figures more loathsome than him last year, his inclusion was marketing, not analysis.
I disagree that Obama should be on the list, but their reasons are sound, and it hardly invalidates the list.
Yeah, the entire section on Obama was essentially getting down on the guy for being an optimist and slogging him through the ringer for not living up to promises he hasn't even had a chance to really make. Or if he has made them, he hasn't had a chance to screw them up. Wait until the guy's at least sworn in before throwing rocks at what he will or won't do. And saying he "avoided legislation" sounds like a leftover McCain soundbite.

Other than that, I laughed a lot at this list...even if I don't know who some of these people are.

Then call me a Vietnam vet who married rich, because that's exactly what Obama's senate career looks like to me.
