Matt Taibbi vs Tom Freidman

I know Mr. Taibbi gets mixed reviews around here (one poster derisively called him a "smirk talker," which is a great way to describe him), but he wrote a pretty good article taking down Tom Freidman of the NY Times opinion page.

Anyway, thought some people here might enjoy it. If nothing else, read it for Matt Taibbi's Price of Pork Bellies/ What Midgets Think of Australia graph.

Fun stuff...

It's a great article. Taibbi is one mean sonofabitch but that doesn't mean he's wrong. Sometimes I think his cynicism gets the best of him, but Friedman truly is awful and the guy has a much larger platform than he deserves. When we consider folks like Friedman to be "intellectuals", we're in trouble.

Yeah, I generally have a problem with journalists who only trade in snark, but sometimes snark is necessary. In Tom Freidman's case, it is necessary.

If that freedom graph thing is actually in Freidman's book, his editor should be shot. It's like something out of Numb3rs.
