Starts tonight! So excited.

Me too. I probably should have watched the season two finale last week because I don't remember what happened. I think Bill was planning on buying the gaming operation and made some kind of deal with Roman but that's all I can recall. Didn't Margene out the family to more people, too?

I'm hoping they do a little recap at the beginning because I don't remember shit either. I seem to recall Alby poisoning their father so he could take control of the compound.

It seems like a long time passed between seasons, right?

Wikipedia has a nice run down of last season. Also, it looks like season 2 ended in August 2007, so yeah, feels like a really long time off. Hopefully it doesn't disappoint.

Just watched this video recap. Holy crap, a lot went down that I didn't remember.

Edit: Thanks Billy. Wiki was much more succinct.

I didn't know it was it was coming back. The most underrated thing HBO has done.

Pretty good premiere. I really hope the days of whiny Nikki are behind us. She started laying it on real thick at towards the end of last season. I think her performance at the end of the episode tonight was a big step forward. I hope they keep that momentum for her character.

Nikki was really good at the end. That scene could have easily tipped to overly melodramatic, but she anchored it. Is this the first time they've fully admitted to Alby's being gay? I always thought it was hinted at, but never really explored.

Anyone still watching this? The season has been really good but this week's episode might have been the best of the series. A few sub-plots from the first season were brought back (including Ben's justifiable crush on Margene) which kind of felt like a reset of sorts but Bill's crisis of faith was handled so well. We're keeping this one on the DVR for a while.

I am, this is might be my favorite show on TV after this last week. It is a damn shame this show doesn't get the love that Sopranos, Deadwood, or Rome does. Watching Bill's faith being tested on the outside/non-Mormon world was really great stuff. His breaking down outside the festival and telling god that he was searching for a presence, but found him nowhere was heartbreaking. The slow burn on Ben and Margene is killing me. I'd be incredibly shocked if they didn't open next season with Ben sneaking out of Margene's house. Nikki's "All Baptists are scary" line was gold.

I never thought that a road trip movie away from the central action of the season could end up being one of the best episodes thus far. Just the sheer culmination of a lot of the secrets being revealed at long last was this epic release that's been a long, long time coming. Best damn show on HBO, in my opinion.

Frankly, I don't know how Bill manages it. Having one girlfriend, who I don't even live with, is hard enough. No wonder he's got stress. I keep expecting him to drop of a heart attack any day now. Just such a wonderful episode.

edit: And I am thoroughly in love with Amanda Seyfried. She's just getting better and better. No longer is she 'that girl from Mean Girls' or 'that girl from Mamma Mia!', no, now she's 'that girl from Big Love' and that is an awesome thing to be.

I've been trying to record this and watch with my dad because he's a big fan but I'm always running behind. But watching the latest episode right now...Wow.

Best episode of the series IMO. I was in tears at the end. Truly a great culmination of all the tensions that have been running throughout the season. The feud with Roman was fun for a while, but the "action" has always been the family dynamics inside the Hendrickson's household. Amazing episode.

The family is falling apart, and quick. Anytime Hollis and his band of freaks show up the show's creepy quotient goes through the roof.

Oh man, Joey is going to call down the thunder next week. So excited.

Man, the shit has officially hit the fan.

Best line of the night was Nicki telling Margene that Satan must have gotten into her.

Yeah, it's going to be awesome.

What's with Roman's sister? She was quite the handsome lady.

This season is kicking so much ass, I don't feel like I'm watching the same show. I liked the first 2 seasons but they were pretty paced with some tension (like most HBO shows). This seasons is just pedal to the metal. I was waiting for episode 8, after EVERYTHING that already went down, to end with Niki running into her old hubby.

RE: Amanda Seyfried. During the same episode (the road trip) I actually said out loud to my wife that she was becoming quite the actress. I was impressed.

I liked the last episode, but it seemed paced a little too fast. It was almost a series of montages instead of actually story. Bill would be at home, then cut to Ted's office, then cut to the funeral. I also wished Nicki's fallout with Ray would play out a little longer. Flowers to Margine, cut to living room, cut to street. I wanted to savor the awkwardness.

Speaking of actresses that rock, Bill's mom got some choice scenes. Loved her speech to Wanda about being proud of trying to murder her husband and sister wives as well as her speech at the funeral that the death was theirs to bear. She can be hard as a rock when need be, but also sweet and caring. So great.

I'm loving the show this season but I just found out there are only two more episodes left.

This just catapulted to my favorite show on right now. Sorry Lost!

This season has been on rails without feeling too rushed. The overall feeling of escalating despair for the family has been pretty palpable, and it's been exciting as hell.

Two episodes left = sadness.

Hey, it's renewed for season 4 at least.
That's good news. This show is just on fire going into the finale. I'd had to see the last episode culminate is some major explosion only to be left hanging forever.

What a great season finale. Bill screwing over his brother-in-law was an amazing moment. Sad to see such a great villain in Roman die, but thrilled that Joey got his vengeance. Plus, with Zeljko Ivanek as JJ should give us a new villain worthy of Roman. Did they tell us if Alby lived or died after the bomb went off?

I totally forgot this was sitting on my DVR. What a great finale. I love the action with Roman but the stuff with Nicki was heartbreaking.

Alby was in the hospital last we heard.
